Obituary

FashionMen/jb

On another note, a moment of silence please in remembrance of the A&F Quarterly, 1997–2003. While it lived its life as a deeply closeted homosexual and sometime racist, we cannot help but acknowledge that it inspired millions of healthy boners. And for that we give thanks.

  3. I know I went on about how awful A&F is, but if you noted in my rant, I did say I went in to look at the pictures occasionally....

  4. god love bruce, sam & savas. they are geniuses.

  5. I find the whole trend of conservatives controlling what media is 'acceptable' alarming. CBS yanks "The Reagans". A&F contradicts its own press releases in less than a week. What's next?

  7. Oh blah blah blah, blah blah. There was nothing interesting or original about their clothes or attitude. They mostly copied from 1980s French clothier Chevignon, from the faux Americana right down to the homoerotic adverts. Sociologically, their image constituted a kind of "fagploitation", titillating middle amerika with the last great taboo.

  10. Hey, Well one of my friends told me that a guy that "Supposedly" Models for Abercrombie asked him to be in a photo shoot. So I guess my friend did it and now he is going to get paid (29,000$) And he doesnt even model. IS this true that something like that can happen to you don't you need to be in some kind of agencey to become and abercrombie model I mean this kid is 15yrs old and it happend out of the blue at some Abercrombie party? Tell me Please I REALLY want to know

  11. I don't really buy a whole lot of abercrombie stuff. mainly the jeans. but I don't understand why people make such a big deal about it being a gay or straight thing. I mean damn, I would love to get paid to model for abercrombie, and have considered persuing that if I knew how. yea, it would be weird if i knew that guys were looking at me lustfully, but there is nothing I could do about it, and I wouldn't ever know. but that doesn't make me gay. In fact, I am fairly homophobic. I mean, guys look at the magazine for the girls and girls for guys, and maybe guy for guy and girl for girl, but that probably happens with every magazine. either you buy the clothes or you don't. Either you look at the magazine or you don't. quite making it big deal.

  14. Alot of people at my school tell me that I should model for abercrombie. They tell me I'm hott, and I know that I am, and I totally have the body for it, and if it is all about the whole gay thing? that works too cuz.. yeah.. im gay. anyway, i want to try it out, and the guy in the picture above? Climbing out of the lake onto a dock.. 3 letters.. WOW!!

  15. I would luv to become an Abercrombie model I mean not to sound foward or anything like that be I am very hot and I modeled at little places and had pic's of me in the major shopping mall's for advertisement and senior pic's or family portrits.... but never close to being an Abercrombie model

    Posted by: Josh | Dec 27, 2004 12:14:33 AM

  16. Who care if Abercrombie models are gay or not. They're hott, they know it. Actually, most guys that are obsessed with their looks (models) may not be gay OR bi, but do have slight gay intentions.

  17. how can i be a model for af?

    Posted by: paul | Mar 27, 2005 11:58:11 PM

  18. Just so this clears things up for you A&F model wannabe's, 99% of the time, you need to be REPRESENTED by a modeling agency. A&F scouts go through MODELING AGENCIES to find new faces for their various campaigns. You can't submit photos to them and then suddenly become an A&F model. Just some helpful info for those interested.

  20. Please read and THINK before posting that you want to be an abercrombie model. Alot of the time, it doesn't matter how "hott" you are if you are too short and not skinny enough. Modeling is a harsh world and you can't just grab their contact info and decide you want to model for them. I am 15 and represented by 2 huge modeling agencies. I will be spending this entire summer doing big runway shows and photoshoots. To give you an idea of how this works, I am 5' 10" NOT TAN (agencies HATE tans, if they want a tan in an add, it will be fake) I used to weigh 130lbs (considered underweight for my height) and had to lose 14 lbs in one month (the healthy way or else you will gain it all back and your skin will look bad). often times, when you are auditioning for a show or shoot, there will be a mark on the wall (usually right at 5'10") and if you are under that mark, you wont even get an interview. ideal measurements are 34-24-34. modeling doesn't just happen, you have to work at it.
