Connecticut expected to OK gay civil unions by June. Vermonters who've been living with civil unions for five years say gay marriage would be better than civil unions in Connecticut: "There's no question that law creates a separate box for same-sex couples. It sends a message that says you're not quite equal, you're not quite worthy. That affects our kids. That affects our families. That affects the couples."

Personally I feel that the governement should have no control over "Marrieage" period, gay or straight. Civil Unions, or dometsic partnerships yes. Marriage is a spriritual union and should be between the two consenting people in the faith they choose.
