Brokeback Mountain Teaser Trailer
For more information on Brokeback Mountain make sure to visit our full guide: The Towleroad Guide to Brokeback Mountain.
Several screenshots have surfaced for the gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, however, they don't reveal much about how the gay love story is going to be played out in the film. Thus, this is not the Brokeback Mountain cockteaser trailer we've all been salivating for. However, perhaps we can add some captions and try to discern just what is going on here:
Fade In: The intoxicating Wyoming landscape—a perfect day for cattle ranching.

"C'mon Ennis, let's find some cattle. Oh, but first let's cross this wide river."

"Hey wait. I just thought of something. You're pretty cute for a rancher, and
I've got a bottle of Merlot back at the cabin."

"Forget the cattle, let's go find that little cabin in the woods."

COMING: FALL 2005.
If you get a chance to read Annie Proulx' story before this film comes out, do it. It's a fine piece of writing. We'll continue to follow this 'back as it breaks.

I read the story and it was awesome. I can only hope that despite the failure of other "gay" themed movies, this one will remain true to the original story.

it's a great little novella. I too hope that the film captures the mood of it..

It's a powerful little story. I'm not a weeper and it made me cry. Amazing that Proulx "gets" something about men's hearts so well. I hope that Ang Lee doesn't sanitize it.

I bought a copy of the book recently, and it was soooo moving - i was crying by the end though - the author really captured the emotions of love and sexual attraction alike. Hope the film's even a quarter as good.

I pray every time i read the book that Ang Lee doesn't disappoint us.If the movie is half as good as the book i'll be there on opening night because it's everything i've wanted in a gay love story. Thank YOU Ann Proulx for being in tune like to man's emotoins like this.

Now this movie isn't going to be released until December 2005!
I can't wait that long--I've been patient long enough. We need to start a petition to get this mivue out in less than a year. It's all about the Oscar I hear. The Oscars suck--the gays don't even watch anymore. Who's with me?

It's good news that it's not coming out til December! That means the makers believe it's good enough to win Oscars!

If you're anticipating the movie, then you should get your hands on the short story written by Annie Proulx. It's amazing.

Read the story...As good as you've heard. Heard of the casting for the movie and was encouraged. Have seen Ang Lee's "The Wedding Banquet" and am confident he can direct a realistic gay love story. Explicit? Most probably not - However I have no doubt that he'll manage to capture the depth of emotion
the story requires. If he manages to produce a version that both straights and gays can embrace, it will not only serve the movie going public, but society as well. I suspect the man's got it in him.

Latest IMDB info: limited release is Dec 9, select cities in late Dec, and here's the bad news, "wide release" not till January 06! I don't know if that means worldwide, or more US cities, but I don't want to have to wait till 06! I've been dying to see Gyllenhaal in something great besides Donnie Darko. I haven't been thrilled with much of anything else he's done, but I think he's a wonderful actor and given the right script he's gunna blow us away again...this could be it!

The Pasion of Heath...
As many of us all know Heath Ledger is the pride and joy of his father, Mel Gibson. The same man who spoke out AGAIST gays and any act of homosexuality. Not only do I and the majority of the gay community, have an extreem dislike for Mr. Gibson and contiue not to support him and his homophobia, to add insult to injury, I find it extreemly amusing that his own son is starring in a strictly gay film. Heres to you Mel, and Fred Phelps the queer bashing sucubus. WE WILL DEFEAT YOU!
