Gaywatch

I missed this Daily Show clip the other day but it's absolutely hilarious, covering a range of gay issues that were in the news at the beginning of the week, including the Texas nitwit I mentioned who claimed that children of gay and lesbian parents are eleven times more likely to be abused. I concur with Stewart here to those CNN anchors. "Why don't you call them on their bullshit on the air?
And Dogged Blog dissects the segment...

It seems that the Daily Show is covering some of the same issues as Towleroad. I saw "Gaywatch" and loved it. Last night's show covered Bush kissing the representative of the Abdullah (as in the Towleroad post of 4/26) and played some conversation where Bush indicated that the flowers were Texas Blue Bonnets and the other replied "they're GORGEOUS!" Tee hee... Jon must be seeing your blog.

God bless Jon Stewart! My boyfriend and I loved Gaywatch so much, we watched the re-run last night that came on after the show.
"The Daily Show" is the only thing that keeps me from completely losing hope. It's refreshing to know that someone who's not gay is being outraged just as much as I am.

This made me spit Coke out at my monitor.. based on this alone, I say we make Jon Stewart and The Daily Show folks honorary 'mos! :)

I thought John Stewart was getting a little annoying and preachy lately (you can't complain about how the media trivializes the news when youre part of the problem) but this totally made me revise my opinion.
I've noticed time and again, when it comes to gay issues, the TV media allows "pundits" to say whatever they want and doesnt hold them accountable.
If they had someone on there saying they had a study showing black people were 11 times more likely to abuse children, would that anchorwoman say, "Hmm...interesting debate. Good debate," and move on?
