Copy of Vatican document released says what was expected:
"The church, while deeply respecting the people in question, cannot admit to the seminary and the sacred orders those who practice homosexuality, present deeply rooted homosexual tendencies or support so-called gay culture...Those people find themselves, in fact, in a situation that presents a grave obstacle to a correct relationship with men and women. One cannot ignore the negative consequences that can stem from the ordination of people with deeply rooted homosexual tendencies."
Ed Flanagan, Vermont State Senator who championed that state's civil unions laws, seriously injured in car accident last Friday.

It seems so simple. Priests are supposed to be celibate. So why does it matter if they aren't sleeping with men, or if they aren't sleeping with women?
What we all know, or should know, is that the Catholic Church, as well as a significant percentage of the general population, feel that all homosexuals are pedophiles. Never mind that practically every other day, another female teacher is caught sleeping with one of her underage male students. Forget about all the female children who are molested by male family members. Gay men are the enemy.
Fighting ignorance with logic is like peeing on a forrest fire. It might make you feel better, but you haven't saved any trees.

WHY do we even care???
The pope wears prada shoes and gucci glasses the hypocrite closet case.
Why do we need their approval. Their faith is an anacronistic, outdated, foolish myth
- Book of Joshua has the sun orbiting the earth
- Book of leviticus says it is a-ok to sell one's own daughters into slavery
- Book of job has UNICORNS for goodness sake
- Book of Mathew has jesus calling all non-jews dogs undeserving of healing
Their jesus was created by emperor constantine in 400 ad from a radical pro poor jewish rabi, MYTHRAS (the main redeemer god of rome), and all of the other pagan religions of the empire in 400 ad as a political tool. 1 united religion with buts of all to hold together an unraveling empire.
Uhmmmmm ditch it, forget it, laugh at their foolishness
come into the 21st century
Our clamoring for their approval substantiates their claim to some kind of authority and truth.
and again the pope wears prada shoes and gucci glasses the HYPOCRITE closeted queen

Well if the Old Nazi wants ban gays as priests, I suggest calling your Senators and Congressional Reps and demanding that public funding for Catholic insitutions be stopped immediately. The ban is a violation of equal opportunity hiring practices that are in effect in many states, for instance NY, NJ and Mass. I say we pull the purse strings on Boston University, Seton Hall, St. John's, Fordham, not to mention all the hospitals. You can discriminate in hiring based on religion, but you don't get the Federal money. Hit them where it hurts, right in Holy Gucci bag.

why would any self-respecting homosexual want membership in the catholic church anyways?
faith, heart, and spirit are better spent elsewhere in life.

...And neither should Roman Catholics ignore the negative consequences that can stem from the ordination of people with deeply rooted HETEROSEXUAL tendencies.
Does anyone else remember the scandal of priests messing around with their female parishioners? How come all of a sudden the only sexual sins the Roman Catholics seems to care about are homosexual.
Oh, never mind. I forgot. If a priest has sex with a woman then that's normal so. . . but wait, isn't heterosex a violation of celibacy? I'm a dunce for sure and I'm too ignorant to understand such deep theological matters. Sin is sooooo relative.

For an official document, it's so unclear and vague, isn't it? It's like bad stand-up. This line kills me: "a correct relationship with men and women...". So, let's see... is there an incorrect relationship with men and women as well? Is there a correct relationship with men and men? An incorrect one? Is there a correct relationship between women and women? An incorrect one? Come on, Vatican, tell us the whole story!
