News: Smell of Diddy, Holy Shoes, Lewd Gay Turnabout
A gay and lesbian book stand at a book fair in Zimbabwe has been destroyed. Not surprising given President Mugabe's sanctioning of hate.

The devil wears Prada. Look who's making a fashion statement now.
Hungry like the virtual wolf: Duran Duran announces that they will have their own island within the video game Second Life, on which they will perform actual live concerts. Nick Rhodes: "When I first discovered Second Life a few months ago, I was astounded by the possibilities that were there. When I started looking at the figures running around, chatting and interacting, I thought this is somewhere between a bizarre virtual reality TV show, a surreal real-life experience and a video game. Somehow the amalgamation was just irresistible - what became obvious was that Duran Duran should have a presence within there."
Connecticut State Supreme Court refuses to allow Family Institute of Connecticut to intervene in that state's ongoing gay marriage case.
Struggling Sheila Kuehl-sponsored California bill that would have mandated gay history be taught in public classrooms is watered down in order to pass. Now, bill simply orders that there be no negative portrayals of gays in textbooks or instructional materials.

P. Diddy promotes his new fragrance Unforgiveable with a ride on a jet ski in a tuxedo. It seems that everyone needs to make a splash with their own fragrance these days. But you know what is more unforgiveable? That someone has invented a new fragrance that smells like Stilton cheese!
A rundown of the new features you can expect in "Leopard", the next Mac OS. Among the cool features are the ability to replace the backgrounds in iChat with photos and videos...
Can't get enough of Gnarls Barkley's "Crazy"? Arjan points us to a free club mix of the hot track.
Cruising control: A gay rights activist calls for an investigation of the Palisades Interstate Park Police for the homophobic targeting of consenting adults after a judge overturns the conviction of a New Jersey man for lewdness in a public park.

Teached?

OMG Towle! You report on Leopard news, and the best thing you can think to bring up is the features that only most fifth graders would be interested in?? Why not say something about the "Time Machine" program or the "Spaces" program? Seriously, I'm overreacting but, reporting on cutesy details alone is uhh...sad. It makes people who don't know about mac stuff think it's just that, cutesy shit you can blow out your ass. I'm sorry, I don't mean to be so irate. ;-(

"Be teached"?
...but not if it takes time away from "taughting" grammar.

Why is it always so amazing to non-Catholics that the Pope wears red shoes? It's part of the drag and where the fuck is he supposed to get his shoes? At Payless?

Re: gay history in schools.
Too many people want to hold and cherish the victim mentality at all costs, without thinking of either reality, truth, or consequences. I am an avid reader of gay history, and, like all histories, often the truth is buried between the views of the author, and the availability of facts (and not speculation.)
I find both the original bill and the compromise poorly conceived and poorly changed. Since, basically, there is no gay history taught in school at all..eliminating 'negatives' is a silly concept. How can nothing be negative? If the subject is never broached, than a subject cannot have a slant. As for Ms. Kuehl's original bill: all you have to do is read a lot of gay media to question who is actually going to establish this curriculum. Do we really need 30 years of the gay version of George Washington Carver highlighting rather mundane discoveries simply to create the illusion of success where truthfulness would instead show the unfairness of adhering to such a comparison? If 'we' didn't get a fair shake, why do we insist on judging ourselves by an unfair criteria?
Most importantly, are we truly ready for the battles with our 'allies'? I just read a book called "What Every Sixth Grader Should Know". As I read it, I was increasingly angered by the complete lack of any mention of a person sexual orientation. One major example was the discussion of the Harlem Renaissance. Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Countee Cullen all were gay. Will the Black community, and in particularly, the Black ministry stand for this fact to be openly discussed? I seriously doubt it. Frankly, I think it's a battle that we aren't tough enough to fight, and will lose easily. I think it should be fought..but we don't have the guts to fight it...we can only fight 'the enemy' not our 'friends'.
This is a really good idea..but the application hasn't been well-thought out. It's legislating a 'perfect world' idea by implementing an imperfect solution.

re: Andrew's comment
Lewis' shots are hot. If it was that easy, everyone would do it. It's a lot easier to sit on your ass and criticize, saying how easy it is. It's a lot harder to actually make something of your talent. Good for Lewis.

Lewis has talent obviously. It would be nice though if he had a more diverse ethnic mix with his models. Doesn't even look like there was a single person of race in the party pix as well. What's up with that and why can't we comment in the actual thread?

Gay men are ugly. I'm glad you post pictures of straight men, they look great.

Thank you Sam, but I do not just 'sit on my ass'. My comment was from a professional view, unlike yours. Go get a camera, a cute boy, and brick wall-you are a pro now. By the way-fuck off

Egads!
My virgin ears!
It's like we're more interested in bitching than we are in discussing.
I'm still stuck on Diddy's cologne smelling like Stilton cheese...
Nice pecs though. He looks better than I remember.
