O'Brien Vineyard Engages in Wine Activism

Obrien_2Bart and Barb O'Brien of the O'Brien Family Vineyard in Napa announced yesterday that they have started a "progressive" philanthropic program in order to end California's ban on same-sex marriage.

Their "Wine for Equality" program will donate 20% of all proceeds generated from their online wine store to Equality California

The winery currently produces a Chardonnay, a Merlot, and a Bordeaux blend.

"We have created an opportunity for wine lovers to support marriage equality by purchasing a wine that supports the cause directly," Bart O'Brien said in a statement yesterday. "We hope to raise over $100,000 for EQCA in 2007."
