GAY PRIDE PARIS: THOSE FRENCH BOYS!
Hundreds of thousands of people attended the Gay Pride parade in Paris on Saturday, according DPA. Organizers say as many as 700,000 came out for the event, including the mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoe, and former culture minister Jack Lang. Lesbians and gays said they want to start a dialogue with President Nicolas Sarkozy to get political support for their issues.
Word on the street says it was a cool 50 degrees over the weekend in the City of Light, but from the looks of these pictures I'd say it was plenty hot. (Thanks to Alek and Gregory for the nice photos!)

Hey, and don't forget the biggest Gay Pride festival of all that same Saturday was Europride Madrid 2007, held on June 30 2007 with over 1.5 million people from all over Europe in attendance. It started Wednesday last week and ended yesterday with one huge collective hangover. While the men pictured are very handsome and very hot, there is something a bit sad about seeing the Chelsea/West Hollywood look exported to and adopted by gay men in Paris and other European cities. I guess even waxing and muscle obsession has been affected by globalization.

I find it very disheartening that when pictures are posted of any gay pride parade/festival that there aren't any people of COLOR represented. What IS that about??!!
You mean to tell me that the only Black person at Paris Pride was standing behind a Chelsea clone holding his hips??

SOULBROTHA...of the men pictured, the hottest one is the beauty wearing the white t-shirt...maybe he isn't 'black enough' for you, but he looks bi-racial to me and i think he's about the sexiest man i've ever seen.

There are no Gays of any color but white...obviously. Don't you read the blogs or watch the news? And they're born without any body hair and a "natural" orange color to them...oh, also Pampers is now making square cut diapers so they start extra early.

Peterparker, I don't know what you are looking at but I see NOTHING biracial about the guy with the t-shirt. Could you please explain to me what characteristics made you come to that conclusion? What is he "mixed" with?
Sexy he may be, but to say that he is biracial is a stretch.
Finally, I find it sad and offensive when we have to squint and cock our heads to the side to find a picture of a gay parader who looks "black enough". BLACK ENOUGH??!! WTF?? If you even have to utter that phrase then I think my point has been proven.

Having once lived in Paris, I know that these images don't paint an accurate picture of the demographic: where are all the sexy men of North African descent, or the Asians, or the Blacks? I stand by Soulbrotha on this one. To my eyes, there's nothing biracial about the guy in the white T-shirt: that's what Gallic French people look like.

sorry soulbrotha that was only partially directed at you...i was playing on the whole "he looks kinda bi-racially" thing that a poster had written....bascially being faceitous about the fact that you wouldn't expect to have a picture of a person who is undeniably black when you can just pick a "he could pass for some part black", which is what seems prefered on this site, (or as some call them, "the non-black blacks).

How often have you SEEN pictures of gay pride parades in Africa? I would say you NEVER have because if you did the slightest bit of research, you would see that Gay Pride events in Africa (Johannesburg, Cape Town and South Africa in general) have TONS of "dipigmented" people in the photos (what few photos that can be found).
Please give your ignorance "a rest".

Marty, thanks for the explanation. I'm not sure what the reasons are for the lack of diversity in Gay Pride photos. I've always noticed it, regardless of what city/country the event took place. Like I said before, it is very disheartening.

Oh, plz Sistah Souljah...I mean Soul "Brotha". I can smell a lit-crit whitebread nerd with an identity deficiency a mile away. The French qua French, as an ethnic group are a subset of the European - let's get real. Cute to mention South Africa, a state constructed by White farmers' hands...as few of them that are left by the vicious black marauders. (Now THAT is truly disheartening!)
Africa does not have gay pride parades because Sub-Saharan "Christians" and North African Muslims are too conservative - and you won't find any White faces in Nouakchott, Algiers or Maputo even if the primitives deigned to allow a gay pride event. They certainly wouldn't torch cars because of asinine rumors pertaining to power plant deaths, that I can guarantee.
Diversity exists primarily between nations rather that within them - is that so wrong?

Gomer what I think you smell is you're own bullshit.
1. Anyone BORN in France is French, Miss Thing, regardless of ancestral decent. You know, like it works here in America and every other country. Thus, there are many French countrymen of different nationalities, and, gasp, gay ones at that!
2. You made a generalization about Africa and South Africa is STILL a part of the continent! It's brutal history is common knowledge but what has that got to do with my original point? Nothing.
3. You are absolutely right that the rest of Africa does not celebrate gay pride because of "Christian" intolerance. But my comments pertained to EXISTING events not imagined scenarios, so what was the point of your history lesson? To prove you're smart? Now, WHO is the lit-crit whitebread nerd here?
4. "Diversity exists primarily between nations rather that within them". OK. But if those nationalities are marching down the same street in the same parade, where are THEIR pictures? Where is the photographic evidence of THEIR pride and beauty?
Oh and honey, trust me, I am as Black as they come and have absolutely no crisis with my identity. You better get some nose spray.
