Brazilian Footballer Ronaldo: I'm Not Gay
Brazilian footballer Ronaldo, who plays for the Italian club AC Milan and has recently been caught up in controversy surrounding three transvestite prostitutes who allegedly tried to extort money from him, wants to make it clear that he's not gay.
Ronaldo told Brazilian TV: "My contract with Milan ends in June, after that, I am able to talk with whoever I want regarding my future. I already have a plan more or less laid out, and that is my dream to move to Flamengo, I know that the doors there will always be open for me. As for what happened, I did not have any sexual dealings with those people, I must stress that I am not gay. When I told my girlfriend, she started to shout, scream and swear at me, I think she’ll find it hard to forgive me."

This may sound like wishful thinking(since I find him hot)but I'm sorry, transexuals (pre or post op)don't "look" or even "sound" like women. Especially not those three. So for him "not to know" until they hit the hotel room sounds fishy!

This scandal might be a "yawn" here but in Brasil it's a big deal! Like others, I am just a bit suspicious: (a) with the fervent denials that he's "not gay" and (b) that he could have been unaware who he was dealing with when he invited the three muses to party with him. This is why HIV is rampant in Brasil--bisexual men getting it on with other men (or in this case, pseudo-women). Yeah, if I was his girlfriend, I would have cut his pinga right off and shoved it down his throat. Kick him to the curb, girl! And, as for YOU, Ronaldo....you look much better with hair than with your head shaved. Get those pecs up to snuff and you might have something going on there.

OK just for the record, Brazil does not have a particularly high HIV infection rate at least not compared to other developing countries.Part of the credit goes to education programs and an aggressive treatment program in the country. Brazil is ranked 67th in the world in adult HIV prevalence rate with 660,000 cases in a country of about 186 million which is about a .70% prevalence rate. This prevalence rate is in fact similar to that of the U.S. with just under a million cases and a population of 300 million and thus a prevalence rate of .60% the U.S. is in fact ranked two places behind Brazil (at 69th) in adult HIV prevalence rate.

Thanks, XAVIER, I was told that Brazil had a more progressive plan of action for AIDS prevention than the United States--going back to the early 1990s. Sometimes we get carried away on this blog.
What they do have a high rate of in Brazil is BEAUTIFUL MEN...and cute women too, I suppose. Of course, I can only go by what I see on the TV and movies...oh, and the DVDs from the adult video store (I'm honest).

And it's pretty ironic but isn't all the trans porn in the video booths in the str8 section of the store? It used to be that way back in the day in NYC. Transporn films was never in the same booths with the gay porn because it appealed to a totally different audience. I don't know what the deal is with this soccer player who is far from a billionaire for kicking a freaking ball. I've yet to see an athlete in the Forbes list of billionaires. I can however say what is sad is that any transperson would feel that they were such an anomaly that being with them was a scandal worthy of extorting money. I don't think my being loved or desired is any more scandalous than anyone else be wanted.

I don't know if anybody here is aware of this, but this being 2008 and all, is there a set list of sexual identifiers we must all abide by?
Let the man work it out for himself. He certainly doesn't need to do so in public. Nor does any other so-called public figure we "deem" to be gay. Go and visit a counselor or case manager at you local LBGT center and they will tell you that there are many ways that men and women identify themselves sexually, and that it's OKAY for them to do so. We get so hung up on applying labels on people so that we can feel more comfortable - Some of us are beginning to sound like a particular group of people we've been battling with for years in order to gain some specific rights.
If he is indeed Gay, Bi, Tri, Quad, or Quintesexual, then perhaps when he's ready, he'll come out.
Until then, who cares?
And for the record, he's xtrahHot in my book!
Furthermore, he has every right to earn a living in world which is not tolerant of gays, and being a minority, he faces even more challenges if he were to come out. If I was him I'd play it smart, keep my mouth shut, earn as much money as I could, retire, and then write a coming out autobiography (with first pick of who'll play me in the movie, of course!). I suspect this might also be the game plan of certain celebs who we also think are "suspect": Jodie, Mel, Queen Lah, Anderson and Tyler P.
Whatever. Live and let live. I'd fight ANY bitch that would try and drag me out of the closet against my will - certainly if they didn't know me OR my personal circumstances.

Couldn't agree more, BB!! And Jason, although I, too, believe most people are bi to a certain degree, I have yet to see any conclusive evidence or research done on the matter. I guess we need another Kinsey-like research done by an unbiased team and data from all over the world! Not just in north America. That'd be only fair since it'd be representative of all humans.

Perhaps Brasil now has a more aggressive HIV campaign and the rates have fallen. I do know that HIV in Brasil is higher among women than among men. But, thanks for the correction. I was quoting my Brasilian friend because I figure he knows since he's from there. As for what Ronaldo is or might be, it doesn't matter to me. He is what he is. What I want is for him to get better and be able to play again. At his prime, he was one of the best.
