Dubai Police Detain 40 Men in ‘Campaign Against Transvestites’

In what Dubai’s police chief is calling a “campaign against transvestites,” 40 foreign men have been detained and will be deported, according to the Gulf News:

Dubai“The visitors were arrested after police launched a campaign against transvestites last May. Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Dubai Police Chief, had said then that transvestites were frequently being spotted in public places. “This is against the UAE’s traditions and social values,” he had warned. Any man or woman who dresses up and behaves like the opposite gender in public will be questioned and legal action will be taken against him or her, the police chief had said. The 40 transvestites were referred to the Public Prosecution, which issued an administrative deportation order against them. All of those arrested were visitors and tourists and not residents, the police official said.”

CNN is reporting 17 detainees but the number appears to be much higher.

Don’t they ever have tsunamis on the east coast of Africa?

I’m sick of these f…kin’ moralistic & hypocritical Muslims, Jews and Christians.

  2. the queen says

these queens should consider themselves lucky — at least they didn’t chop their heads off… wonder where my hot trick from dubai is these days. did he ever get married like he said he would have to? is he on the down lo? ah well…

  3. Larry says

Why the hell would some out of country trannies go to Dubai to show? gimme a break, I’m not feelin’ sorrow for those queens. Dubai?! you were kinda askin’ for it. Pick your battles folks. That was just plain stupid.

  4. Derrick from Philly says

Well, Larry, they gave us two choices: Dubai or Kansas. It was a close vote, but my fellow bitches are suckers for dark Arab daddies.

Isn’t it funny that the quote was, “This is against the UAE’s traditions and social values,”? LMAO.

But suckin’ dick behind closed doors is a-okay! Whatever.

Before you make any decisions about Dubai, here is an extremely informative article about the “culture” that exists, but of course, any society that jails or deports people they don’t like or understand is BAD! BAD! BAD! Right? A somewhat famous quote comes to mind…”Glaaaaaaass houuuuuuusssesss!”

All the rich folks and celebrities who are buying propwerty in Dubai are going to regret it. They seem to be under the delusion that this place is the new Palm Beach or Monte Carlo and it’s really just Riyadh on the sea. Have fun with that, Brangelina!

  7. Paul R says

Actually, PaulC, I’ll make a wild guess that celebrities living on their own islands might not be held to the same standards as regular tourists.

But I agree with your general point. I just read an article about people from Europe going to Dubai, then getting arrested for sunbathing topless or having sex on the beach. As someone said about these trannies, What in the HELL were they thinking?? Even if it’s bright and shiny and new, it’s still a traditional Muslim country that enforces its values. Delusional trendy people seem to think that they can do whatever they like because they’re paying $1,000 a night to stay in some high-end hotel. Idiots.

  8. Sami says

But PaulC, you seem to be forgetting the amount of corruption that exists in the UAE. If you have money, you are above the law. You can do anything you want, and the police *have* to look the other way. So the rich who are moving in don’t have to worry about a thing.

I would also be willing to bet that not a single one of those foreigners who were arrested were Arab. The Gulf countries (but especially the UAE) are rather well-known for mistreating their foreign workers–most of whom come from the Indian subcontinent. These Desis are treated like blacks were treated in the Jim Crow South.

In the the UAE, they make up around 75% of the population, but have practically no way of protecting themselves from the abuses of government. I would not be surprised that this “campaign against transvestites” is really just an effort to get rid of some of the Desi population.

  9. says

40 cross dressing tourists? In shopping malls? Yeah, tell me another one.

    I suspect Sami is right.

Aha, yes, now this: not 40 but 17 and perhaps not tourists at all:
Police spokesman Zuhair Horoun says the men were either visiting or working in Dubai.

It is indeed against UAE’s “traditions and social values.”
Those do, however, allow the gang rape of foreign boys, as long as you pay for justice to go your way.

So, how in the heck did Michael Jackson live over there for almost 2 years when he was aquitted on those charges a few years back? Every picture I’ve seen of “him” lately he is dressed as a woman.

  11. dezboy says

Homophobic Arabs? Are you serious? I’m shocked! I thought they were so liberal over there. Snark.

  12. Joshua says

I’ve lived here in Dubai for almost 5 years and living life happily.

To be honest, you guys are stupid. The world is filled with corruption and such on government systems or whatever they call it. It is hatred and jealousy that what make us hate Arabs, we’re all human beings. Can’t you guys look forward to the future and just aim for you later on goal of your life rather than spreading hatred. This is reality face it the world is filled with good people and bad people.

    Joshua.
