John McCain's New Campaign Poster: Peace is Born of Wisdom
Although there's probably an even better comparison than this one to Pearl Harbor, it looks just like the one-sheet to some overwrought Michael Bay war flick, complete with cheesy tagline.
AFTER THE JUMP, a clip from the Jed Report. Writes Jed: "My newest video features John McCain talking about the Iraq war from 2002 through the present, exposing -- in his own words -- the lie behind his claim that he was the war's 'greatest critic.' It demonstrates his chilling commitment to fighting this war no matter what the people of America -- or Iraq -- want."

The poor guy is so desperate to find a way to change people's mind. It's not working at all, it will not work at all...too old too ignorant and to grumpy! He's OLD NEWS. The fact that 14% of LGBT people support this asshole is really shocking!

I was gonna say that there's much more to find wrong with this guy than the similarities of one of his posters to a movie poster...like the complete hypocrisy of the message in the poster vs. his "100 years" of 'peace'. But then I noticed the fighter jets in his poster.
C'mon, McCain. Fred Thompson was the actor, not you.

Hmm, I wonder. Would that "wisdom" be based on his belief that Pakistan boarders Iraq, or his extensive knowledge of the Suni/Shia split in Islam? Oh gosh, maybe it's just the wisdom that comes from an extensive knowledge the Pentagon's accounting procedures.
I'm still stumped by the insistence of his supporters that Obama can't figure out a comprehensive foreign policy without traveling to Iraq. What a minute, I guess they learned that lesson from electing a man that never once left the United States until he was whisked away in Air Force One, time in the Republic of Texas not included.

it DOES look like a movie poster...

I think the fact is that "officially" we are still at war...and McCain wants to remind us. I'm no fan of McCain.. but let's not forget his Father was a Navy man and his Grandfather was a Navy man..BOTH admirals. McCain almost died for his country in 1967 after his 23rd bombing mission over Vietnam. I think he may have a little more expertise in this area than Obama has. He also has his 19 y.o. son Jimmy fighting in Iraq whom he never brags about even after Obama accused him of not caring about troops.

Those planes are off to bomb the Iraq-Pakistan border.

Is that really the poster? It is listed as one of ten candidates on his site...no mention of it being the chosen one.

Is that link doesn't work, just go to his site and click the right arrow in the upper left a few times until you see the poster graphic.

Davey, the only reason McCain "almost died" was because of his father's and grandfather's positions. You see, without their influence McCain would NEVER have been anywhere NEAR a fighter jet or anything remotely resembling combat. When you graduate in the bottom 99% of your class, when you're repeatedly reprimanded by your superiors for your surly disposition and attitude, when you're told that "you should never fly again" yet you still get an appointment what does that say? McCain was a failure, still is, and only got wound up in Vietnam because he was a legacy brat.
And at any rate who gives a shit who fought in Vietnam? What does it have to do with anything? He sucked at it anyway, so if anything, it should be a negative on his record.

JASON,
you puzzle me... but you must be fair-minded because you tell the truth about this election. Hell, you can throw watermelons at me anytime you get ready--just vote Obama on November 4.

DAVEY,
You ever wonder why McCain isn't an admiral?
Woops.

It's not even funny anymore. OK, it's still funny, but it's also really, really sad. I weep for his campaign.

Maybe he should speak of Zelda Wisdom instead of his own wisdom, it would be a much better distraction.

Forget that this poster makes McCain look like he's running for God, not president. Can we take a moment to appreciate the eye-burning graphic design mess? Let us count the offenses:
1. The color scheme: orange and teal. Really.
2. The janky fake stone texture looks straight out of powerpoint circa 1997. And it's teal fake stone.
2. The cheesy :McCain '08" bar makes the whole thing look like a Fox News screen grab run through the "hideous" filter on photoshop.
3. The orange ting makes McCain look like he slathered on a little too much self-tanner.

Oops. There are two #2s. My bad.

Wells: It's just an entry in a contest, that's why it looks horrible. The rest aren't any better. They're all on his site.
