Cynthia Nixon on Marriage Equality and Prop 8

Joy Behar, filling in for Larry King, devoted a large segment of the show to Proposition 8. She spoke with Cynthia Nixon. They discussed Proposition 8, Obama's position on civil unions, and the Mormon church. If anyone can find the continuation of the show, please forward me the link.
And if you missed our gallery of protests across the nation, check it out HERE.

Cynthia did a great job! I'm really impressed and hope that she continues to speak out for us.

Great to have both these great ladies as allies (Joy) and compatriots (Cynthia). As Cynthia said, keep organizing, time is on OUR side!

is a further clip of Joy on Larry King.
BTW why hasn't the towleroad community attacked Cynthia for suggesting that civil partnerships (where truly equal) are ok, in the same way that Elton was?...

Because that's not what she said

OK so I don't think I expressed my view (or Cynthia's) very well earlier- I was in a bit of a rush. What bothered me about the Elton story was the vitriol with which people responded to his opinion, including very personal attacks, bearing in mind that this is a man who has done a lot of good things for the gay community. Cynthia did suggest that truly equal civil unions could be a step in the path to gay marriage, an idea which some attacked in the Elton story comments.
I guess what I was trying to say was that the gay community is just that, a community of different people who have different ideas, but who share a common goal. The most important thing, that I think we can all agree on, is the need for US federal and state recognition of LGBT relationships on a truly equal basis with straight couples. Whether or not this is called marriage, surely there is more that we agree on than not; and it is only by agreement and respect for each others opinions that anything near this level of protection will be achieved.
ps I love Cynthia and think she did a great job too
