Anne Hathaway Left Catholicism Because it's Anti-Gay

Hathaway

Anne Hathaway tells GQ in the magazine's March issue that she and her family left Catholicism over the church's views on gays:

"The whole family converted to Episcopalianism after my elder brother came out. Why should I support an organisation that has a limited view of my beloved brother? So I'm... nothing. Fuck it, I'm forming. I'm a work in progress."

Hathaway, who expressed her bafflement a year ago at Obama's choice of Rick Warren for the inauguration, once told Newsweek "about 95 percent of my friends are gay men."

  1. I kinda love AH... it is very much an act of courage to speak-out against the Katholic Khurch Kulture, especially when your career depends in part on the whim of a fickle public.

    Plus, she's been wronged by her man... so we'll love her forever. 'Been there, hon.

  6. Personally, a organzation that covered up the rape of children (boys and girls), has no grounds to lecture us about how we're a "threat" to children, marriage and families.

  12. Anne, you heard this last summer in Central Park every night on the stage, what's one more time. Thank you for speaking your mind.
    - Paul

    "Make me a willow cabin at your gate,
    And call upon my soul within the house;
    Write loyal cantons of contemned love
    And sing them loud even in the dead of night;
    Halloo your name to the reverberate hills
    And make the babbling gossip of the air
    Cry out 'Olivia!' O, You should not rest
    Between the elements of air and earth,
    But you should pity me!"
