Watch: Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) on DADT and John McCain's Bigotry

Rep. Jared Polis (D-CO) appeared on The ED Show to discuss DADT and the Senate hearings.

Says Polis of objections to gays serving openly: "This is just a stigma that maybe a few old white male senators have but the men and women of the military are long past this."

  3. McCain is the type of person who would have also been abject to African-Americans, Jews and Asians as fully incorporated members of the armed services! His Rhetoric is the same you would have heard at the time Pres. Hoover integrated the Armed Services back in the late 40's. This same demeanor was exhibited toward Northern Jews and even Catholics by Southern military personnel.. It's very sad that this man is surely going to be in the History books when, in the course of time, they write this chapter, unfortunately for McCain he will be on the wrong side!!!!

  6. Jared Polis is part of the problem, not the solution. He has largely stood by while Obama dragged his feet on GLBT rights. Now that Obama and the Democrats are lame ducks, they expect us to believe that they are fighting for our rights. It's a charade, don't fall for it.

Obama was never for gay rights. He was only using us in order to win our votes.

  7. @ALEXINBOSTON: Harry Truman is the president who issued an executive order racially integrating the Armed Forces, not Herbert Hoover.

  8. Here's a link to Truman's executive order desegregating the armed forces in order to maintain "the highest standards of democracy, with equality of treatment and opportunity for all those who serve in our country's defense." Obama could sign much the same thing to de-bigotize the armed forces...if only he had the balls.

  9. I tend to agree with wimsy, Obama worries too much about trying to do the right thing. The republicans are never going to do the right thing. Grow Some Balls, Mr. President, please, and step right over those morons!
