Watch: 5 Activists Arrested in DOMA Sit-In at John Boehner's Office
Five GetEQUAL activists were arrested last week in a sit-in outside John Boehner's office in Ohio protesting the Speaker's intention for the House to defend DOMA in court.
Watch their video, AFTER THE JUMP...

5 people? Tell me that's a misprint and that some zeroes are missing...

Bryan, it's at least 5 people taking a stand. What have you done lately?

Wait a minute! I wasn't aware of this situation. I live nearby and I would have joined... This is why after college, I'm heading West. There are just some Ohioans that are close minded. 2 more years. Cali here I come!

Good. This is what it takes, taking a stand, and being recognized and your message heard.

Jay - there are bigots everywhere. Maybe you need to get out of greater KY (Cincy area) and head to Columbus!

First, congratulations to the protesters. Keep up the good work.
But, what exactly did the protesters do to get arrested? It doesn't look like they're blocking an entrance. They're not inside, on private property, (can a congressman's office be considered private property?) or in any way preventing Mr. BOehNER from performing his acts of stupidity; erm, his job.

Proud, and fearless protesters that fight the good fight. The world is watching everything that is going on. You are there to stand for your rights in equality. For a country that says that you have the right "to liberty, freedom and the pursuit of happiness" it's so strange this arrest. Your liberty & freedom are not met because you do not have the liberty to consult with your congressman (who was placed there by the people.) Furthermore the freedom granted to you... the right of peaceful assembly was also taken away from you (Bill of Rights... didn't they read that on the House floor?) Finally, your pursuit of happiness to love the adult of your choosing be it a man or a woman and to marry whomever you choose continues to be deprived from LBGT community. This Congress holds the Constitution and Declaration of Independence so close to their heart. Why is it that they only "selectively" choose who should, or should not be given these rights? The dream is to have these rights one day belong to every American citizen. It is an honor to have these activists as fellow Americans. I am so proud of you.

I applaud and respect GetEqual's willingness to do what the HRC and 90% of the LGBT community refuse to do: fight homopobia head on. But I do have one criticism: why let homophObama and the Democrats off the hook? Correct me if I missed it, but us queers STILL CAN'T GET MARRIED. We need to take Obama's "declaration" that the DOJ will no longer defend DOMA for exactly what it is: yet another sidestepping of the issue. Now, the Democraps can point the finger at the Republicans and says "look at how mean they are to you... WE LOVE YOU, VOTE FOR US, GIVE US YOUR CASH!" And, of course, the faggots will take the bait.
