Geomagnetic Storm Lights Up North America: VIDEO


Photographer Shawn Malone captured a rare display of the Aurora Borealis from Michigan this week. The Northern Lights reached as far south as Alabama and Texas. More on the Coronal Mass Ejection here.

  4. Back in October of 1957, I was in the Army stationed at Fr. Chaffee, Arkansas. I recall waking up and looking out my barrack's window at an unusual sky light show of green hues... it was majestic! I didn't believe that the Northern Lights came that far south. It was unforgettable!
