Anti-Gay Coalition Launches New Initiative Against California's LGBT History Law

The group which tried unsuccessfully to collect enough signatures for a referendum to over turn California's FAIR Education Act. They've filed for a ballot initiative, which is a separate process than a referendum, and must collect 504,760 signatures to get it on the ballot, Think Progress reports.

See the filing HERE.

As you may recall, underhanded and disgusting tactics, such as using fears about child molestation, were used by volunteers to get people to sign petitions for the referendum. The FAIR Education Act mandates that curriculum about LGBT people and history be included in public schools.

Anti-gay activists are afraid that THIS (see link) might be the result.

  5. The act is fine. But I still want to know why gay talent in HRC and Hollywood is not producing docudramas of our historical giants. If the public knew of our massive contributions to history, gay rights would be granted in three seconds. I swear. Our leadership is so incomp.

  6. call me crazy, but i think the fact that Alan Turing, the gay man who created the device that cracked the Nazi enigma code and truly helped end WWII, committed suicide from being so utterly hounded for being gay is an utterly relevant aspect to the culture of prejudice and hatred and darkness in human nature that was indeed WWII.
