  1. the item about Bryan Fisher seems to be either a misunderstanding or a typo.
Rick Santorum isn't mentioned in the story.

  6. It's because you still think of Joe Jonas as an annoying 14 year old boy. Now that he's, what, 19 or so, you're struggling to reconcile Hot Youth with the "wait, he's a kid".

  9. a) In their global poll on homosexuality a few years back, Pew found that several Latin American countries, including Mexico, actually had slightly more positive attitudes than the US did....and there was only a 4% difference between Hispanics on the one hand and whites and Asians on the other in the Prop 8 vote, so the hurdles that exist with blacks don't really exist with Latinos....and the Far Right has been miscalculating on this for quite some time now, perhaps because of their own stereotypcial notions about Latinos and how their religiosity translates into social conservatism.

    b) When I read the story about Descoings the other day, right after he was discovered--and the circumstances were described, my gaydar went up immediately.....and now, sure enough.....

  10. "Joe Abell, the school administrator who shamed a California high school student for supporting marriage equality ..." should be fired. Apology NOT accepted.

  11. Joe Jonas is 22-years-old. Both Joe and his younger brother Nick have publically supported gay rights. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to see a movie or TV show starring a Jones; but, I do wish them well in their future careers because they are our allies.
