Madonna Digs into Lady Gaga in 'MDNA' Tour Rehearsal Clip: VIDEOS
Madonna has apparently taken the well-known controversy over similarities between Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" and woven it into her concert, morphing the latter into the former before taking a dig at Gaga by launching into another song: "She's Not Me".
Several bits of the show have popped up on Israeli news as well. The show kicks off soon in Tel Aviv.

M does have a point. Lady G sure did copy that song and just changed a few notes. Instead of suing, she is taking her revenge on the road.

That's just tacky and pathetic. Madonna should focus on putting a decedent album together, unlike her last two failing records, instead of going after Lady Gaga. She needs to get over that "Express Yourself" thing, the songs really don't sound the same, and it's just Madonna's way of staying relevant.
It's just sad to see a legend becoming a joke. Between the bad music, running on stage with fishnets at the age of 53, dating guys who are 30 years younger - it just all reeks of despair, and that's just plain sad.

There is no honor in this.

Pathetic

I had a dream last night that a 90 vampire was draining
People's soul away with her overly produced and no talent records
Oh. Nope just Madonna for the last 5 years

Oh geese. She's pokes fun at another performer for a minute. I'm sure Gaga will survive.

geeze. :)

M? Lady G. is younger than you are. Always will be. Sorry.

Save the outrage for something important. Madonna sells out concerts, Gaga sells out concerts, they do what they do. The two songs are very similar, both good fun. Is see no issue here other than the hatred directed at Madonna for being 53. Should she be locked away because she is over 30?
Posted by: clydetoronto | May 29, 2012 8:30:35 AM
Yeah she does not really have to do that.... She should just leave Gaga alone. Sooner or later Gaga will run out of things to steal. Like this is not the only thing Gaga has copied and not given proper credit to. She is the popstar of the 21st century. All driven by marketing

Given the violence on her latest record, I have to assume the whole "kabbala" thing was just a phase?

I couldn't care less about their infighting. What really astounds and inspires me is that these women so vigorously symbolize Western style freedom all over the world, especially for woman themselves as well as for gay people. Through the joy of song and entertainment they are truly singular, and very American, representatives of enlightenment. Viva la Madonna and Gaga.

Madonna's a washed-up singer with terrible songs surviving on 30 year old hits. She just put out one of the worst albums of the decade & is now touring in support of it. That L-U-V song is pretty obviously stolen from childrens television. I think the Wiggles could probably sue her over it. Does it really surprise anyone that a pop singer from the 80's that's never been anything but style over substance (amid a series of manufactured controversies the last few decades) would manufacture a controversy with one of the bigger name current acts in order to sell more albums? If Gaga didn't exist she'd create a beef with someone else. It's just what she does.

I had a good giggle with @ Ohyesiam's comment! Like Madonna has ever had an original idea in her career? Its all been "heavily borrowed" from previous performers or talented producers. Show me a song or an album that she has written or produced 100% on her own. Oh right...it's never happened.

You know what is pathetic, the fact that sad queens spend more time on this site arguing about Lady Gaga and Madonna and putting one of them down and less on the political and human rights stories.
At least both these women are out there living their lives, making a difference and entertaining people. What the hell have you all done, left some bitchy comments on an internet forum.
Well done.

I like Madonna well enough, but this is embarrassingly tacky on her part and makes her look bad instead of gaga. Oh well.

Seriously this is the issue that's getting the most comments while the important stories about gay rights have nothing.
Has anyone thought about it, Madonna incorporates BTW into EY and sings She's Not Me, maybe just maybe, she is trying to say Gaga is her own person and Madonna is her own person. Gaga will never be Madonna and Madonna will never be Gaga.
Both women should be celebrated for what they represent instead we have pathetic queens trying to put one or the other down. Imagine if we focused all this on our rights, how much we would get ahead. If you don't like something why bother commenting, its quite stupid.

Summary of events:
1. Madonna thinks, what can I do to get people's panties in a knot.
2. She does it.
3. People get their panties in a knot.

OMG, why is this even an issue? If you know anything about Madonna (aside from the fact that she's "old", "ancient", and a "pathetic granny") then you know how tongue-in-cheek she is. I don't see this as a "dig" as much as an artist winking at another artist in good fun. They've both mutually said they respect and admire each other. And I may be TOTALLY wrong here, so don't flame out on me if it's not true, but if Madonna uses this song in her tour, doesn't that mean Gaga gets royalties on this? Doesn't it mean someone had to give her permission to use it? Maybe not, but just a thought.

And the bad choices continue. She's basically done. The nostalgia tour will make money but she's no longer relevant as a recording artist or likeable as a media personality.

Childish and unnecessary.

Lady Gaga has really been at the forefront of fighting for LGBT equality, reaching out to inspire young teens who are being bullied and trying to prevent suicide. And the song Madonna is mocking was the first #1 song on the radio that specifically addressed the LGBT community. That's huge. Can you imagine what it feels like to be a bullied young teen, feeling all alone in the world, and then hearing someone on the radio reach out to you?
Madonna has said she supports her gay fans, and she's obviously surrounded by them all the time with her dancers and producers. But what has she really done in her life to make the world a better place? Ever since Ray of Light, we've been listening to her songs talk about finding peace and harmony with the universe. But her actions don't reflect that at all. She's grown into a bitter, sarcastic woman who is more narcissistic than ever.
There's so much more she could be doing with her fame, wealth, and influence. Instead she goes on stage and digs into Lady Gaga.
Whether you love or hate Gaga, one thing that's undeniable is that she's truly used her popularity to try and make the world a safer and more loving place. At the very least, Madonna should recognize that and think of ways she can do the same.

And what is that damn MDNA but a ripoff of everyone from April Lavigne (God forbid!) to Gwen Stefani?
You know, I sometimes like Madonna, but she has a fatal flaw: her absolute narcissism.
It is so damn TIRING.

Gaga is a has-been already. Her popularity has declined severely over the past couple of years. I am glad Madge did this.
