Chris Brown Responds to Accusations of Homophobia: 'Love who u wanna love'

Brown

Over the weekend, Brandon posted about recent remarks from singer Chris Brown, who was asked about Frank Ocean's recent coming out as he was departing a nightclub in Cannes.

Brown reportedly told the reporter: "Man, no homo!"

Brown took to his Twitter today to discuss the issue further, presumably in response to online criticism that his remark was homophobic:

"My Opinion on the whole Frank Ocean subject is ......... Love who u wanna love. It's ur decision. People stop searching for BS...Everyone is so quick to point the wrong fingers at each other! Ask urself... Am I Doing everything I can to help the world ????...The world is so bent on social acceptance that we've forgotten what makes us special... Our individuality! #Imdone #readabookbitch."

Finally, a must-not-miss review of Brown's latest album, AFTER THE JUMP...

  3. The world is so bent on social acceptance? Is that why Chris is in the closet? Oh wait, he's just as, if not more concerned about social acceptance than anyone he's talking down to. He should take his own advice regarding being an individual. Oh, and being a physically violent idiot isn't exactly doing everything you can to help the world, Chris.

  6. First he wants to diss you then he wants to make it your fault!

    OMFG.

And then he asks others what they are doing to help the world?

  8. I think it's funny how he puts 'read a book' as a hash tag..when it's clear he hasn't read any since 3rd grade. I like that he constantly is an ass and writes stupid tweets. Makes his career die a bit faster.

  9. Lol, epic album review! One of this songs came on the radio recently and I frantically was reaching for the button to change stations...he has seriously gone overboard with that autotune crap. I've never been a fan of his, even before he beat Rihanna up, but my god...how do they listen to that in the studio and think, "This sounds sooooo good!"

Garbage and I wish the guy would go away. So gross.

  10. His friend Rihanna has supported homophobes in her music career.

  11. Chris Brown is a piece of sh#t. He shoots his mouth off then his record label explains to the dumbass that about 80% of his music is bought by GAY fans because his music is POP music. It's not R&B no matter how hard he tries to tell us it is - it's POP music.

We need to stop buying his music. He's a liar. We already know what a scumbag he is after he beat up a female ! Did you really expect him to be OK with gay people ? If he wasn't famous this thug would be in jail. He's as dumb as a post.

  12. ICEBLOO,

Chris beat up Rihanna but she went back to him. What does that say about Rihanna? She's as much to blame. She's sending out a horrible message to victims of crime.

Both Chris and Rihanna were made for each other. They're trash.

  13. @SIMON

    "She's as much to blame"

Victim-blaming is just so cool and edgy.

  14. she's not as much to blame, but anyone who accepts any level of violence in their relationship needs serious therapy

  15. But he left off -- just keep your hands off my backside. Love shouldn't hurt like a prison movie.

  16. He just doesn't get it.

Who you love isn't a decision. I can decide if I want to watch Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune. But I can't survey a room and decide who I'm going to love. Love is something that happens, usually over time.

I think the "decision" word is intentional and calculated, it's his way of saying we choose to be gay without using the word "choose". If it's not intentional or calculated, then it's really stupid, tone-deaf, and uncaring.

  18. REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND, DO NOT DECIEVE YOUR SELF. JESUS LOVED YOU AND DIED FOR YOU SO THAT YOU CAN BE SAFE AND MAKE HEAVEN AT THE LAST DAY

  19. ALL THIS HATE WILL GET ONE NO WHERE, JESUS IS THE TRUE AND ONLY JUDGE NOT YOU. HE WILL JUDGE ALL AT THE LAST DAY. BEAR THIS IN MIND AS YOU LIVE YOUR LIVES AND JUDGE OTHERS.
SEARCH YOUR LIVES. IS JESUS PLEASED WITH YOU OR THE WAY YOU ARE LIVING YOUR LIFE?

  20. I'll reiterate...OMFG. He should just be how he wants to be and own up to it. he doesn't have to like everyone and can be homophobic if he wants to and as a result, we don't have to like everyone or buy and listen to his music either. he isn't making a difference, but he is making money...just saying.
