Maine Firefighters Fight For Marriage Equality: VIDEO

Mainefire

Mainers United for Marriage, the group fighting for equality in The Pine Tree State, today released a new video featuring local firefighers who explain how their brotherhood doesn't discriminate against gay people and why their same-sex loving colleagues deserve the right to head home after a day of saving lives to a spouse that they love.

Watch it AFTER THE JUMP.

  2. A lot of fire fighters are anti-gay Christians so it is good to see pro gay fire fighters.

  3. WELL THIS TREND AMONGST THE BIG BUTCH AND MANLY ADVOCATING GAY MARRIAGE IS CERTAINLY INTERESTING. NEVER EXPECTED THEM AND THE FOOTBALL HUNKS TO TAKE UP THE BANNER FOR GAY MARRIAGE. AND IT MAKES ME WONDER HOW MANY HOPEFUL GAY BRIDES ARE IN THE WINGS WAITING TO SNAG THEMSELVES ONE OF THIS BIG BEAUTIFUL BUTCH MEN. IF I SEE ANY OF THESE FIREFIGHTERS AT TIFFANY'S BUYING A RING I'LL LET YOU KNOW. I JUST LOVE WEDDINGS, DON'T YOU?

  6. Why would macho men be against gay marriage? They want a good husband too.

  8. The only people surprised by the diversity within the community, and the diversity of support for it are the people who live very sheltered and relatively isolated gay ghetto lives.

While you're so busy "being gay", the rest of us live in the real world and have a far more diverse experience that extends WAY beyond the little gay media whores and attention seekers that usually get all the headlines and focus, and pass themselves off as representative.

So step aside drag queens and queens, while the rest of us make it happen for you, we know you'll just stab us in the back again after it's over and resume your whole "you aren't gay enough" BS, but ya' know what, we don't CARE.

You're the past, we're the future.

  11. Thanks guys! I'm thinking we (GLBT) are indebted to all the heterosexual men and women who have taken the time and energy to think clearly and appropriately about the fairness of marriage equality. It speaks volumes when people can come forward in the manner which these guys have and explain why they would vote this way. These guys are examples to the larger heterosexual community why we can all come together and do the right thing in voting for this precious civil liberty for all of us. Thanks again!
