Homosexuals were rounded up along with the Jews by Hitler during the Holocaust, so I don’t know how Bryan Fischer couldn’t see that his Nazi comparisons weren’t reason enough for him to be hung up on! That’s when that happened, not when he talked about the risks of the homosexual lifestyle! Man… I just don’t get ignorant people like this guy..

If you don’t want to listen to this creep, this quote will give you a flavor of what you’re missing:

“it is simply a true fact that homosexual behavior is immoral…That is just a simple statement of fact. But the gay gestapo is going to take that as an insult”.

I hate to break it to you brian, but just calling your stupid, ignorant opinion a fact doesn’t make it so.

Why the hell is he comparing me to a nazi? This man is so far out of touch with reality…why is he aloud to be on radio/tv/in the media to discuss his version of reality?!?! The only time he should be in the media is when he is committed to an insane asylum or dies.

  13. Kucklehead says

Mr. Fischer wants to discuss HIS “truth” about homosexuality…which is that it’s perverse, immoral, unnatural and unhealthy. You’re entitled to your opinion Mr. Fischer, but not to your own facts.
Scientists and Psychologists disagree with your “truth”.

Mr. Fischer is wrapped too tightly in his religious beliefs and is too ignorant to be reasoned with.

He is a BIGOT – a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion.

  14. Caliban says

@Mykelb, thanks for posting the link to that article. It’s a really look at the difference between fact and opinion and that all opinions are NOT equal!

The example used is of an “anti-vaccination activist” who demands equal time for her opinions to be heard in public debate but she has NO background in medicine or public health- she’s just another wackadoo with an opinion. The same thing applies to “Global Climate Change” or gay rights.

If there is a rational basis for you opinion that’s one thing, but if you’re Bryan Fischer and the ONLY basis for your assertions is “Well the BIBLE says…” that just doesn’t cut it.

CNN’s big mistake was inviting Fischer to comment in the FIRST PLACE, not cutting him off. Do they call on the Grand Dragon of the KKK to comment on race relations in the US? Do they ask Jim Bob Duggar for his opinion on the “glass ceiling” for women in the workplace? No. So why did they ask Bryan Fischer, someone who has NO rational basis for his opinions, to comment on gay rights?

  15. Sean in Dallas says

The Nazis were right-wing extremists, just like Mr. Fischer there. Identifying them as left-wingers is either intentionally misleading or it’s misinformed.

  16. Gigi says

I couldn’t concentrate on what Bry-Bry said because all I could hear was Karen Walker saying, “Honey what’s this, what’s happening, what’s going on?” Fischer’s ditched the glasses, donned a pink chemise and has obviously had some work done on his eyes (hence the glasses dump). He’s all prettied up. Guess it’s an attempt so soften his look so people won’t be so disgusted when hearing things like: Gay Gestapo and Stormtroopers of the Homosexual Movement. The “Big Gay” bit actually made me think of Big Bird.

  17. Diogenes Arktos says

The Religious Right has been doing enough of a Nazi campaign on various issues that the Jewish Anti-Defamation League has called them out. Fischer relies on sources like “The Pink Swastika” by Scott Lively, which have been totally discredited by real historians. One of the gems is that the Nazi party’s official name has “socialist” in it – therefore, the Nazis must needs be left-wing.

A great hero of many conservative Christians is CS Lewis. He was a professor of English Literature at Oxford. He once remarked that at a university one must allow a multiplicity of points to be heard, including the president of the flat earth society. However, he notes, that one must not give such a person a chair in geography. I suppose that since we have logic here (and in the link posted above to the Philosophy prof in Australia) the Religious Right will denounce this concept.

There are different shades of pink. For example, there is “suburban pink,” which is the heavy, bright pink color that you might see men wearing on a suburban golf course. And then there is “sledgehammer pink,” which is that really super-light pastel baby pink; that shade of pink is so feminine that it hits you over the head with a sledgehammer. Bryan Fischer is wearing is wearing sledgehammer pink.
