Elton John and David Furnish Expecting Second Child

Elton John and David Furnish are expecting their second child, UK tabloid The Sun reports:

Furnish_johnA surrogate for the Rocket Man singer and hubby David is due to give birth next year, The Sun can exclusively reveal. Last night a source close to the pair said: “Elton and David love this lady like a sister and they feel indebted to her for life. Naturally she has been well rewarded. But her identity will never be revealed.” The mum — believed to have been recruited via the Center for Surrogate Parenting in Encino, California — is said to be already “several months” pregnant. Zachary will have turned two by the time his sibling arrives.

  1. Congrats on your baby but you need to remember that it is the product of a woman and a man. It cannot be produced from two men or two women. You, Elton, have used a woman in order to have a baby. Don't claim that the baby is the result of you and David.

  2. Jason-

Do not forget that just because you have access to comment does not automatically translate into adding any value to this story.

  3. Jason wants to remind us gross fags that one man + one woman = baby, and thus that only heterosexuals can have real families. Because he hates gay people. Jason/Rick are not gay men. It's one homophobic person, spewing hatred all over Towleroad.

Jason is a homophobic, femmephobic, misogynistic and racist troll who comes on here every day to derail the various comment sections. Ignore him. Starve the troll and kill it.

  4. I didn't see the word "expecting" the first time I read this. So it read: Elton John and David Furnish Second Child. Well, I thought it was funny.

  5. I find Elton irritating.

  6. Mateom,

I will continue to call a spade a spade regardless of your inane responses.

  7. With advance in human cloning technology, soon women don't need a man to have babies. Doctor can take a cell from another part of the body (e.g. leg) and inject its DNA into an egg cell which can be implanted into the womb. The famous sheep Dolly was born this way.

  8. Can we please put the names of commentators BEFORE the actual comment? I hate to waste my time reading halfway through and realizing that the comment is one by Rick/Jason etc., and I should never have started reading.

  9. More entertaining than JASON are the outraged responses he gets. JASON is here to provide that fly in the ointment, that contrast, that exception to the rule that makes the rule so much more worth thinking about. Never, ever get rid of JASON.

And of course he's gay. He loves men passionately, egregiously, and most defensively. It's his operating principle that men rock more than anyone or thing. Now what's the matter with that?...except that it really is misogynistic and all the rest. Still, when he's gone I'll be sorry.

  10. I think what Jason means is that Elton John and his partner are just like thousands and thousands of other couples "exploiting women as baby factories", virtually all of them heterosexual.

  11. I don't like the idea of old men, straight or gay, becoming new fathers. Children should have paents that they can hopefully depend on for love and guidance for decades.

  12. I agree with Andrew

  13. Congrats to Elton and David! Elton's never looked happier, apparently fatherhood agrees with him.

  14. If you are rich enough you can even buy babies!

    Posted by: andrew | Nov 13, 2012 12:29:48 AM

  15. Andrew dear, you may be able to "buy" babies, but it takes more than money to raise a child. It takes a loving, supportive environment, and that's something a gay couple can provide as well as a straight one. I'm surprised that hasn't occurred to you yet.

  16. Mateom, let's be real...a spade isn't the only thing Jason will call a spade.

  17. @JASON: Thank you very much for that brief, informative comment about how babies are made.

Now, sit down and shut up.

  18. I agree with Andrew. Elton John is 65, that's too old to just be having a baby. It's unfair to the child, who won't have a parent for much of their life.

  19. Isaiah, (how on earth is that even someone's internet name? The spelling is torturing me) the children have another parent- David, who just turned 50. So the children, willing, will have at least one parent for life, at least until they reach adulthood. Add to that the fact that Dame Elton seems set to go on and on, and it seems the little children will be just fine. And what business is it of yours or mine?
