North Korea Releases Propaganda Video Featuring Attack on U.S. City, 'We Are the World': VIDEO

Northkorea

North Korea's official website, Uriminzokkiri, uploaded a bizarre new propaganda video on Saturday.

NkThe Telegraph explains:

The video is shot as a dream sequence, with a young man seeing himself on board a North Korean space shuttle launched into orbit by the same type of rocket Pyongyang successfully tested in December.

As the shuttle circles the globe - to the tune of "We Are the World" - the video zooms in on countries below, including a joyfully re-unified Korea.

In contrast, the focus then switches to a city - shrouded in the US flag - under apparent missile attack with its skyscrapers, including what appears to be the Empire State Building, either on fire or in ruins.

"Somewhere in the United States, black clouds of smoke are billowing," runs the caption across the screen.
"It seems that the nest of wickedness is ablaze with the fire started by itself," it added.

The video ends with the young man concluding that his dream will "surely come true".

"Despite all kinds of attempts by imperialists to isolate and crush us... never will anyone be able to stop the people marching toward a final victory," it said.

Watch it, AFTER THE JUMP...

  4. Maybe they can next tackle that thorny issue of cannibalism and politically motivated lack of food in North Korea. A man was actually executed recently after he killed his own daughter and cut her up for meat. People are literally starving. But I'm sure this doesn't include the party elite.

  5. They can spend money to make this nonsense but they don't spend any to feed their people. I wait patiently for the day this regime falls.

  12. So.... They hate us but love our music? Huh? or Korean citizens have 'cheerful' dreams of missiles being fired? or this is some sort of 'cutting edge' karaoke vid?

Based on the stupidity of what I just saw, we have NOTHING to worry about.

  14. What attack? Your headline is wildly sensationalistic. Even the copy you quote acknowledges that the fire was "started by itself."

  15. Um...did they get permission to use the song (from its AMERICAN owners) or the AMERICAN movie clip (2012, maybe?)?

As much as they lie to their own people, I'd be willing to bet they claim the song was written by a N. Korean...and that their own special F/X people produced the movie clip (which is of far higher quality than the rest of the video). Reeks of international copyright violations.

  16. First they need to learn decent computer animation. Then maybe I might think about fearing them.

  17. @ gwyneth cornrow,

"What attack? Your headline is wildly sensationalistic. Even the copy you quote acknowledges that the fire was "started by itself."

That's right, an alternate and complete translation of that caption would be....:

"Perhaps, it seems that the lair of evil which has devoted itself to the forced oppressions and ]the tyranical invasions and wars, is burning in the fire which has set upon itself."

  19. They seem to think we'll blow ourselves up. Maybe they take the NRA seriously as the NRA almost thinks each American is entitled to a 2nd Amendment nuke in case he gets mad at his neighbors.

The bright side - they are importing Western music, so it is only a matter of time before they become as "degenerate" as we are.
