RoadAssistant Commissioner of Police Devon Watkis says there's no anti-gay violence problem in Jamaica: "I think there is a lot of loose talk in just lumping up all victimisation of people who happen to be gay as victimisation against gays. Truth is, I have encountered cases of murder where it is evident that it is as a result of one being gay, but those are few."

At that point, Cámara says he told the female doctor she "wasn't professional enough". JonesRoadWho's taking a gay marriage leave from the Pentagon? "Starting Tuesday, the Pentagon is allowing gay troops to take travel leaves for up to seven days — or as many 10 days for those stationed abroad — as long as those service members live 100-plus miles away from a state that allows same-sex marriages...Scores of service members are draining their savings just to pay for airfare, hotels and rental cars — common, logistical necessities for obtaining a marriage certificate in one of the 13 states where same-sex marriage is legal, advocates say."

The controversial posting had been on the wall for more than a decade until it was taken down recently under public pressure. The word started to spread after two women new to the area happened upon it while dining at the restaurant Aug. 11."

  2. Who here remembers Charlie Hunnam as Nathan in the original Queer as Folk? *raises hand* Yeah, that's what I picture every time I see his name and when I watch him as Jax on Sons of Anarchy.

  3. No violence against homos in Jamaica?
I read there is no poverty or racism or starvation either. It MUST be true if they say it's true?
Don't worry Jamaica nobody wants to visit your backwards 'country' anyways so no need to pretend it's safe on any level. Thanks.

  4. "Who's taking a gay marriage leave from the Pentagon?"

Nobody at the Pentagon will be eligible for the leave. You have to be 100 miles from somewhere you can legally marry. They just have to go to DC.

Some of the states that allow same sex marriage also have a significant waiting period, so speaking practically, some of them are logistically even more difficult than others.

  5. I don't care how bad the "50 Shades" movie turns out, if Charlie does a full frontal, I'm there!

PS: I remember UK QAF too. It was far better than the HBO remake. Charlie's BF was Littlefinger. They've come a long way.

  7. Re: 10 reasons to vote no on action in Syria

He forgot one of--if not THE--most important reason: the international community (via the UN) does NOT see intervention as something that should be done. This should be an international community effort, and if the US goes it alone without support of the international community, it is ethically wrong and in fact it is a war crime.

Chomsky and others have been speaking out about this over the last few days.

  8. Edit: If** anything is done, it should be done as an international community effort....

  9. No sane gay person would want to set foot on Jamaica...businesses have a right to discriminate against gay customer will end loosing money...any movie in which Mr Hunnan can display his hot body is worth a look (but I don't see how they can make an R rated porn)

  11. In the first place if God made Adam and Eve he most certainly DID make Adam and Steve as well. So then Adam and Steve fell in love just like Adam and Eve.
Who's fault it that and what difference does it make?

  12. So all the signers supporting the Russian anti-gay laws should put their money where their collective pie holes are and defect. Move the fu*k over to your Russian paradise. This country no longer welcomes you. Your ideas are antithetical to the founding principles of this nation. Get thee gone and enjoy those lovely Russian winters.

  13. Charlie Hunnam is an excellent choice. That boy can act and more importantly, have you seen him with his shirt off? WOW!!!

  14. There's a lot more love for Charlie Hunnam here than between the female fans of the book (who clearly preferer Ian Somerhalder or Matt Bomer, i doubt any of them were interested in the film anyway).
Charlie is a versatile actor, but the movie will be a comercial disaster. The material is mediocre (and that, being generous) and what make the book a hit has no translation to the screen (at least if they want to avoid censorship).
So it's a lose lose situation, for a role without any depth. I understand an unknown actor could be interested in the role (at least it will give him publicity) but someone who is working would avoid the role if he has a brain
