Joan Rivers Gets in Bed with Meghan McCain: VIDEO

Mccain_rovers

Meghan McCain, the newest board member of GLAAD, got in bed with Joan Rivers, and they talked about being 'liberal' Republicans in support of social issues like gay rights, abortion.

McCain said she learned a lot watching The Normal Heart:

"I didn't even know some of the history behind the AIDS epidemic and how the government never helped and Ronald Reagan didn't say the word AIDS until...? I am embarrassed that I didn't know the history was quite that extreme and it's a dark part of our history."

Both McCain and Rivers cite their gay hairdressers as prompting their support for gay rights.

Cindy McCain's war with Gwyneth Paltrow, her upbringing, her internship at SNL, her dating life, wanting to be the political Chelsea Handler, and her hatred for Ann Coulter.

  1. The woman is a complete airhead (having apparently been fired by both ABC and MSNBC after she served her purpose there of non-stop Republican bashing) and now the gays have to pay her bills and keep her "celebrity". Ask her what "AIDS" stands for. She'll get back to you.

  4. Both women are hateful scum.

Yes they pretend they are liberal. But the Republic**t party hates poor people and hates America.

GLAAD has always been a worthless, pathetic group, but signing pondlife like Meghan McCain to its board shows how irrelevant it is.

  5. Like oh my god, like I want to be taken like serious so I like interview like the most plastic and bitchy person in Hollywood. Like this is so cool. Like it keeps me in the spotlight.

  7. No I won't.

Why is GLAAD squandering what little credibility it has left with scum like McCain who is anti-American (except for the 1%).

  8. "LOL. Trust, Melissa, no one wants to see you naked."

No kidding. I liked it when Joan said to Melissa, "You're in the wrong business". Just like Meghan, she owes her career to her famous parent.

  9. I thought it was pretty interesting, but watch so little TV that I have almost no prior impression of Rivers and none of McCain. Loved Rivers' blouse; *that* was worth haute couture prices! I can barely tolerate the Republicans of today either, and since they're (Rivers/McCain) good on social issues, one may guess they can be pretty heartless on social welfare and warlike internationally; but much as some R's argue for big tent, 30-40 years ago (I am 58) the party was not so loathsome. And as far as coping with heartless libertarians, I live in tech industry swamped S.F. and such attitude is all too common. Lucky people seeing themselves as meritocratic. Thanks Andy!

  10. Yes, Meghan, honey. It WAS that extreme in the early days of the AIDS crisis. Sky God worked in mysterious ways, allowing a lethal epidemic that primarily affected gay and bi-sexual men to erupt during the advent of one of the most conservative presidential administration ever. It was breathtaking to watch the cruel and craven pandering of the Republican Party to its burgeoning evangelical base and Reagan's refusal to even acknowledge that there was an epidemic going on at all. Too bad you never knew about it. Too bad it took Larry Kramer's overwrought anti-Koch screed disguised as a melodrama to hip you to what really happened. Your stupidity only confirms what I already knew about Republicans: they are willfully, deliberately ignorant and should be eradicated from the face of this earth.

  11. Do you know why MaryM hates liberals and women? Because "she" is actually Rick, who hates women and liberals (and also gay people). MaryM's status as an alias of our troll in chief was established long ago and it isn't hard to identify "her" as such.

    So just ignore "her."

  13. This offering from Joan and Meghan is offensive beyond all reason. In the mid-80's I watched as friends died with a horrible fear in their eyes having no idea what was happening to their bodies which had suddenly become their enemies. At that time, Meghan was happily filling her diapers with her intellectual musings and Joan was busy proving to the world that she had bigger kahunas than Johnny. Their new found concern for the victims of AIDS is offensive. They are 30 years to late. It's time for them to stifle!
