Joaquin Phoenix will soon be teaming up with Be More Heroic and the River Phoenix Center for Peacebuilding to produce CAMP: The Documentary – a film that will follow twenty diverse teens as they journey to California to attend a leadership summer camp next month.

GLAAD reports:

Camp more[Camp MORE’s] purpose is to work with teens in an intimate setting and inspire societal change and progress by starting with the youth.  Viewers will watch as the campers participate in experiential workshops, resolve conflicts, overcome personal challenges, form friendships, build confidence and ultimately become compassionate leaders and heroes.

An Indiegogo campaign was launched last week to help raise $40,000 for the film’s production costs.

  1. Is he gay? I found one article that says he is. He seems like someone who would be brave enough to come out...

  5. There is no such thing ss "LGBT teens." There are LGB teens and T teens. This film deals with one gender confused female who may be T. It has nothing to do with being a gay teen and it is lying to LGB youth to tell them that being gay means that they are gender confused.

  6. And yet, "Jackson the Troll", the gay people who hold your opinion are always the most useless, cowardly, and unintelligent with zero presence, zero integrity and you're pretty much complete wimps.

So yeah. Those of us who embrace being LGBT, as a united front, are always stronger. And we always will be. #suckit

  9. I love Joaquin Phoenix, but surely he can spare the $40,000 to finance this project himself. What's with people like him or the execrable Linda Bloodworth-Thomason going the crowdfunding route?
