Joan Rivers Storms Out of CNN Interview After Bring Grilled About Fur, 'Mean' Fashion Critiques: VIDEO

Joan Rivers walked out of a CNN interview on Saturday after being griled by anchor Fredricka Whitfield about 'mean' fashion critiques of celebrities, wearing fur, and saying things "that seem off-limits to a lot of people."

Rivers made headlines earlier this week after suggesting that President Obama is the first gay president and calling Michelle Obama a "tranny". She's currently promoting a book and officiated an impromptu gay marriage at a signing event in NYC's Union Square on Tuesday.

  1. She can dish it out, but she can't take it.

  3. @BRIAN... you don't understand the difference of chain interview and
    a personal discussion

The interviewer is a dumb c*** and kept pushing her personal agenda to get Joan to admit she was a bad person.
Here she is interviewing one of the most famous people in America and she could only talk about her own opinion.
Of course Joan goes too far sometimes but if you listen to the interview she explains her reasons

  4. Staged walk out - Staged wedding - Staged tranny/day insult ... all to sell a book she didn't even write herself. Whatever .. yes she is an icon & funny but the fake stuff is getting old from her & every other person manipulating the media for cash.

  7. I think it's fake too.

  8. If you don't get what she just said about making people laugh then you don't get it. Joan Rivers is AMAZING. An groundbreaking television icon. Haters can hate all they want. I thank her for the years of laughter she has given me.

  9. @RICKFTL you are correct. This was totally staged. Sometimes I fell like we live in the Matrix

  10. The interview was no more mean than some of Joanie's humor. At least the interviewer had the guts to say it to her live not on a tv show with them not present or in a book like Joanie!

  11. Laughter can be a vacation, but it can also be a weapon.

Whose laughing along with her when she's calling the president a fag or the First Lady a tranny? Whose laughing along with her when she's throwing around the n-word?

She's certainly not giving the people who face oppression or casual bigotry a vacation from mean-spirited comments. She's piling more hate on!

Whatever, she's a stunt queen anyway. Oh, and her face looks a damn mess.

  12. I tell you it's Edgar in drag....Rivers died years ago

  13. Joan Molinski is a non-funny comedienne who thinks being catty is funny. She's not.

  14. I think she's hilarious. Not all of her jokes are winners, but she says stuff that makes me laugh. If you don't think she's funny, then don't watch her. I have no idea why people find Jim Carrey or Will Ferrell funny, so I avoid watching anything having to do with them. Problem SOLVED!

  15. That was not an interview. Fredricka's overly friendly and familiar manner of smiling goofily and talking like they are a couple of dishing girlfriends didn't mix well with the attacks. It was literally one thing after another and she wasn't really giving Joan much chance to be funny either.

  16. I was quite surprised to learn that Frederika is 49. She behaved like a green newbie who doesn't know what she's doing.

  17. Joan strategically walked off knowing it would get her media attention. She's a loser.

  18. ....Love Frederika and I'm starting to detest Joan.

  19. Let's face it, Joan tells some pretty funny jokes that are written by gay men, mostly. But she can also be downright mean and the interviewer was just stating something that we all know to be true. Its not jokes just about dresses, she puts people down constantly.

  20. You can see why Edgar committed suicide.

  21. Oh, how cool would it be if Bill Maher had Joan Rivers on his show? Please let that happen.

  22. she is either that fool that can dish it but can't take it, or most likely pretending to be angry and storming out to create publicity for whatever she is hacking this time.

I am going with the latter.

  23. joan rivers is famous for what exactly?

    Posted by: Terry | Jul 5, 2014 6:56:55 PM

  24. anyone who's followed joan knows that if she was truly offended, she would have leveled the host with words.

joan is a genuinely nice person privately, this was a publicity stunt. and, i wouldn't be surprised if cnn was in on the act, they could use a ratings boost, too.
