I’ve never been a huge fan of soccer (or football as the rest of the world calls it) but I am a fan of men and portrait photography. If you are too, you might be interested in the FIFA 100, a project where “art meets football”. Legendary player Pele has named the top 100 players in the game and they’ve been shot by photographers. There are a lot of players that have been shot similarly (with either silver soccer balls on their heads or holding babies) but in between you can find some interesting portraits, and several striking players, including the four above: David Beckham, Michael Ballack, Emre (who seems to be the love child of Freddy Rodriguez and Hal Sparks), and Ruud van Nistelrooy. Interestingly enough, the only women on the list were the Americans.
