Several screenshots have surfaced for the gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, however, they don’t reveal much about how the gay love story is going to be played out in the film. Thus, this is not the Brokeback Mountain cockteaser trailer we’ve all been salivating for. However, perhaps we can add some captions and try to discern just what is going on here:
Fade In: The intoxicating Wyoming landscape—a perfect day for cattle ranching.
“C’mon Ennis, let’s find some cattle. Oh, but first let’s cross this wide river.”
“Hey wait. I just thought of something. You’re pretty cute for a rancher, and
I’ve got a bottle of Merlot back at the cabin.”
“Forget the cattle, let’s go find that little cabin in the woods.”

If you get a chance to read Annie Proulx’ story before this film comes out, do it. It’s a fine piece of writing. We’ll continue to follow this ‘back as it breaks.
