This morning, Variety reports that Gustavo Santaolalla, who wrote the gorgeous sweeping guitar and woodwind score for The Motorcycle Diaries, is busy at work on music for Brokeback Mountain, the gay cowboy film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger.
The soundtrack will also include songs with lyrics written by Bernie Taupin, to be performed by Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, and Rufus Wainwright. Sounds like music to my ears.
