Beau, the gay housemate on Big Brother 6, made an appearance on MTV’s Made this week, briefly helping the teenage punk rocker Brittany in her transformation from ugly duckling to prom queen. Never mind that Beau’s real-life retail career as a “personal shopper” also places him squarely in the role of gay stereotype, because Made is really all about stereotypes, like a real-life episode of Sixteen Candles.
If I were to suggest an episode to watch for those of you not familiar with the show, this week’s might be the one, if only for the appearance of Tara Solomon (above), Miami’s advice diva. She’s this episode’s tractor beam of a “makeover” coach, a big-haired vortex of martinis, sunny fashion advice, fairy godmotherisms, and high heels. The show repeats today at 9, tomorrow at 1. Catch it if you can.
