The librarian who moved the gay penguin children’s book And Tango Makes Three from the children’s section to non-fiction says access to the book isn’t restricted at all because she moved it to children’s nonfiction. Speaking for the wingnuts, she says the book will remains accessible so “the book can say to kids in nonnuclear families that they—the kids—are okay regardless of how we feel about their parents’ life choices.” Barbara Read says she moved it to nonfiction because it’s a true story, an explanation that doesn’t fly with the book’s authors. They told Towleroad: “It’s obvious to us that this was her rationalization but not her motive for moving [it].”
