There was a ton of dialog the other night on the Sopranos which related to the discovery of Vito Spatafore at a gay club. I found it fascinating to see extended conversation from a group of bigoted mobsters about what to do about the situation. It culminated in a scene featuring Tony Soprano at his shrink Dr. Melfi’s office, wondering how to deal with it. The show’s writers managed to get in a dig here at anti-gay Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum, or “Sanitorium” as Tony mistakenly refers to him.
Calls to Santorum’s office from CentreDaily.com received this response from Santorum’s gay director of communications: “We’re not gonna dignify that comment by commenting on it.”
Crooks & Liars has the video.
