I hope everyone had a great weekend. This is just a short note on a few new features you may have noticed appear on the blog recently. Beneath each blog post are a new set of links, some of which are pretty self-explanatory. But I thought it might be helpful to go ahead and take you through them anyway…
You can now email individual posts to friends or anyone who might be interested using the "email this" link…
Digg and the new Netscape are socially driven content websites, meaning people submit news items and stories to them and the stories are voted on by users. Through this process, the most popular items rise to the top where they get more exposure.
If you'd like to help us get the stories on Towleroad to an even larger audience, click the "Digg This" and "Scape This" links at the bottom of the post and submit the item. If the item has already been submitted, feel free to vote it up.
Digg and Netscape are also great ways of finding news items and stories you may not have discovered.
del.icio.us is a place to collect your favorite articles, blogs, music, restaurant reviews, and more. If you see something on the site that you'd like to save for future reference, you just need to click the "add to del.icio.us" link at the bottom of the post a
Yahoo MyWeb is very much the same thing as del.icio.us, if you prefer Yahoo.
Clicking "Subscribe to this Feed" will allow you to access our RSS feed for insertion into a newsreader. For those of you unfamiliar with how newsreaders work, there's a very good guide here.
Clicking "subscribe by email" will allow you to sign up for a daily email from Towleroad that will give you a summary of the items we've posted each day. It should arrive in your mailbox sometime in the late afternoon, perfect for those of you still stuck in the office.
Finally, we have a brand new weekly newsletter that will include our wrap-up of the week's content. In future weeks, we'll include special extra content that you won't find on the site like photos, music, and special contests.

Also, you may have noticed the big video ad in the upper right hand corner of the blog. This is a new kind of sponsored content ad produced by Viacom in concert with Google. Towleroad was one of the sites chosen to participate in the beta launch of this program, as they thought our pool of diverse readers would be a great place to test their gay and pop culture content. The ad should be up for most of the remainder of this week.
Advertising continues to be the primary way Towleroad sustains itself. I thank all our advertisers for their continued support and thank you for supporting them. I thank you, also, for visiting.
