On Thursday's episode of The Colbert Report, author Lynn Sherr sat down with Stephen to promote her new book Sally Ride: America's First Woman in Space. While there, Sherr was asked about Ride's posthumous coming out and whether or not Ride was always gay or if her trip to outer space turned her that way.
"Because that's what happened to the Fantastic Four," Colbert commented. "The cosmic rays….and they got all fantastic."
