America's new Education Secretary Margaret Spellings has criticized PBS for planning to broadcast an episode of "Postcards from Buster", an animated show. The controversial episode, "Sugartime!", about farm life and maple sugaring in Vermont, also happens to feature lesbian characters.
Marshall County, Alabama sheriff Mac Holcomb moves homophobic letter from county website. Billy Cannon, Chairman of Marshall County Commission: "Mac Holcomb isn't a gay-basher and he is not a racist." Related post.

I'm a Catholic myself, and although I disagree with the church's rigid conservatism, seeing something like this is simply devastaing.

I just watched a special not for broadcast feed of this program from WGBH and there was nothing shoking at ALL. The mothers were in the backdrop of the story line! It's amazing that these people don't go after the violent cartoons that are ran daily with parental permission (and give the kid a twinky).
