Students triumph in White County gay-straight alliance battle. ACLU: "Kerry Pacer has endured a great deal of discrimination at White County High School - she’s been called names, she’s been booed at a school assembly, she’s been punished for wearing a gay-positive t-shirt, and she’s been harassed by her classmates - and rather than remain silent, she has bravely stood up for her rights and the rights of every other gay student in her community."

Kerry Pacer is quite the hero. I had the pleasure of meeting her and her family here in Atlanta Thursday evening. I wish I had had the courage she has when I was 16.

i am actually friends with a boy who is gay from white county, but he went to WCHS's rival high school. hahaha.

Yes, Kelly Pacer is remarkable. Unfortunately, the Georgia legislature is working to undercut all the change she's brought about. It's passed a bill requiring high school students to obtain written permission from their parents before being allowed to join any school-related club or organization. Obviously, the new law is targeted at keeping kids away from gay-friendly organizations. Shameful . . .
