The Boys of Summer Pop the Bubbly
The Oakland As defeated the Minnesota Twins on Friday to head into the AL championships against the Detroit Tigers. The win inspired a fierce lockerroom Champagne shower from relief pitcher Huston Street (above) and other players.
Not to be outdone, the Saint Louis Cardinals had their own bubbly shower event on Sunday after eliminating the San Diego Padres with a 6-2 win to go on and face the New York Mets in the NLCS this Monday night.
More popping of corks after the jump...

Left fielder So Taguchi and pitcher Jeff Suppan, Taguchi and Dan Held.

Albert Pujols doesn't manage to stay dry.

Pitcher Kirk Saarloos breaks out the bubbly.

Huston Street shows he's bulging with excitement after nailing the final out, and cools off later.
Nothing like a good lockerroom celebration.

I know it's just a cup, but that's kinda hot. I think someone should call Alexander McQueen and see if he can make codpieces fashionable again.

I don't know who So is hugging in that second pic but, unless the Padres decided to join the Cardinals in their celebration, it's unlikely to be Held. Thank you, though, for publishing pix of So, whoever he's hugging. It's a little-known fact that the man is 90 years old -- he's the Dorian Gray of Japan.

Why can't gay guys show their emotions and get all touchy-feely like this? We are just too guarded in my opinion.

It's like they're covered in sperms.
