Scientists: "After-hours" gene explains why some people are night owls.

Hundreds protest Vice President Dick Cheney commencement address at Brigham Young University: "Dan Kennelly, a Korean War veteran from Sandy, acknowledged that he and other protesters were outnumbered in Utah County. 'If someone doesn't want to listen, that's fine, but we'll try.' BYU student and war dissenter Diana Smith said she's used to being a minority voice at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints school, 'but while many may disagree, it is usually respectful,' she said. That was the general tenor of the streetside - though as in many protests, a few middle fingers were let loose by angry drivers and indignant protesters. One truck driver screamed to the protesters 'you're all traitors!' while several others in this largely Mormon town opted for the more subtle 'I'll be praying for you!'"

BBC to broadcast mass from predominantly gay church in San Francisco's Castro district this weekend: "Last night a media watchdog said Sunday's radio broadcast was "bound to cause offence" to mainstream Christians. John Beyer of Mediawatch UK, an organisation which campaigns for standards in the media, said he thought it was a mistake to broadcast the service. 'Religious broadcasting, apart from Songs of Praise, tends to focus on the out-of-the-ordinary and having this particular service I think will cause offence to people who feel that such practices are wrong and are taught as such in holy scripture,' Mr Beyer said."

I'm sure Harry Reid would be welcomed at BYU. (Are we allowed to remind people he's Mormon?)

So-called "Christians"—though what they have in common with Jesus I've yet to identify—are beginning to master a page from the playbook of the most insane Muslims: "being offended" equals being "discriminated against."
I've studied a little Latin and Greek, two of the original languages in which the Bible was written and have concluded that the most respectful response is "fuckus offus kai dieus."

Actually, Lucas said that AC should out himself, not be outed.

Actually it's a fairly acadermic question at this point. When the mere emntion of your name is a punchline on an episode of 30 Rock it's pretty clear that EVERYONE knows your gay.
The "Mainstream" media should simply stop pretending he's anything BUT gay.It wasn't a deep dark secret years ago, but now that he's beocme a star he wnats to pretend that it is. What a Maroon!

good morning andy....
i used to enjoy your site in a form before your other partners came in. it's amusing, as now it stands as a lithmus test in relation to the highly immature and redundant garbage that is being fed to people, as aspects of that rubbish has sometimes filtered or flittered onto your pages. unfortunately, i found the bad scripting and wasteful detritus that came to be appreciated by some "couch potatoes" or "cruise excursions" posing as travel....business partners?? ok. yet, obvious introduction of more irrelevant or crass content -- there's already too much of that out there. used to love your site quite a bit. have a beautiful weekend!!

Michael Lucas should be inned, he is sadly pathetic and should not be giving anyone advice as to how they should run their lives. He is, after all, a media whoring porn mogel whose ego is so lacking that he continues to strip for dollars from old men in south Florida. One person who just needs to go away and never return is Michael Lucas. Ugh!

I don't know about anyone else... but I am over this stalking by the photographers for anyone...a "red carpet" situation is different....these photographer guys wait for hours & hours for one shot that'll make a huge amount of money....I think like Jake Gyllenhaal...I've never seen him being rude...so obviously he's comfortable with it..but it's enough already..if these people are being stalked,as they are, leave them the fuck alone..Hugh should have thrown a bag of dog shit at them...and I am over this PINK BLOG LINK!!!!!!!I'm in a cranky mood today:-)
very funny ..the commment about Lucas
cheers...

What about Shepard Smith, who works for a "news" network that demonizes gay people 24 hours a day?
When Shepard Smith is out, then let's talk about Anderson Cooper, who never said an anti-gay word in his life.

John Beyer and his important-sounding Mediawatch UK admitted in a recent Guardian interview that his organisation's membership has dwindled to a mere 5,000 members. Whatever his opinions may be, he's certainly not speaking for any kind of silent majority.

When watching the strip search 'how-to' video pay attention to the guard's face then he hands back the inmate's underwear. you can see that he looks right at the inmate's crotch.

If Michael Lucas wants to out something, he should make that his boyfriend whom we've never seen in all his public appearances...But waiiiit, he protects his "private life"!!
The selective morality of the outing squad never ceases to amaze me.

Time to give up on Anderson ever coming out the way some think he should. It's not going to happen. Perhaps in his mind he IS out already to whoever means the most to him in his life.

Most Holy Redeemer in the Castro was the parish that Archbishop Quinn celebrated the 40 Hours Devotion to help those with HIV-AIDS at the nascent stages of the epidemic. It was the first place in America where a bishop participated in the Ministry to those with AIDS and HIV. Quinn was also the first archbishop to appoint a known gay priest as its Archdiocese Director of AIDS. Then, the national media filled the parish to report a compassionate pastor's concern for PWA.
It's all well and good to ridicule Christian hypocrisy and odd beliefs, but I personally find this "trashing" of people's sincere beliefs, in the pioneer parish of the gay community and its fight with AIDS, terribly disconcerting. I am not a Christian, I have little tolerance for Ratzinger, much less Quinn's heir Levada as Prefect for the Office of the Holy Inquistion, but those of us atheists who joined our Christian and gay brothers and sisters with AIDS in this small parish to shine light on a "dark" subject find this ridicule just a bit beyond the pale. All the wonderful Catholic men I've known might be disconcerted, too.
The funerals I've attended here, the memories of those who died yet spiritually served, the courage of Archbishop Quinn and this parish to shine light in a time of distress cannot bring comfort, much less courage, much less respect, to today's people of faith, whatever their stripe, however repugnant their beliefs. Sad. Very sad and very disappointing. I wish I had not read this item. I wish no reason existed for it, either.
