Andy Roddick Responds to Men's Fitness Cover Image
Andy Roddick has posted a response on his blog to the recent Men's Fitness cover story on him which featured a bigger, stronger, buffer version of the world's #3 player, and apparently the Photoshop job was as obvious to Roddick as it was to everyone else.
"I spent the last few weeks in Austin really focused on my training and getting back into shape…but pretty sure I’m not as fit as the Men’s Fitness cover suggests…little did I know I have 22 inch guns and a disappearing birth mark on my right arm. I saw the cover for the first time when I landed after Rome…it was pretty funny…I walked by the newsstand in the airport and did a total double take …I can barely figure out how to work the red-eye tool on my digital camera…whoever did this has mad skills…maybe Rafael Nadal wants his arms back?…if you can manage to stop laughing at the cover long enough, check out the article inside, the photo shoot on the boat was pretty cool..and I recognize the person in those photos…"

It's great that he has a sense of humor about it. Kinda makes you wonder about just how exaggerated other Men's Fitness covers have been.

MF covers are always a bit ridiculous. Most of them look like drawings as opposed to looking like photos of actual people. But that seems to be the case with most mag covers...

All of them are fudged, photoshopped and detailed; it helps to keep that illusion that everyone else is built but you so you must buy this fagazine.

LOL. Andy's great to mention to the photoshopped cover. Why didn't they just leave his arms alone? Beefing him up like that didn't fool anybody.

andy's comments were great. if you guys know who rafael nadal is, you can understand the reference to his arms. "rafa" and andy are such cuties.

For Men's Fitness to have to exaggerate the cover model's physiques is saying something about their credibility when it comes to doling out workout advice. "False advertising" doesn't begin to describe it.
