Paris Hilton: What a Difference 22 Days Make
Fifteen minutes after midnight last night, Paris Hilton was released from Lynwood Detention Facility after serving three weeks:
"Hilton was wearing jeans and a white top and green jacket. Her mother and father had pulled up to the front of the facility in a black Escalade to pick up their daughter. Paris Hilton sauntered down the brick walkway, smiling and waving a few times and saying 'Hi.' She got into the waiting vehicle as it was swarmed by photographers. Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said Hilton thanked the guards, nurses and other staff on her way out. Whitmore said Hilton stayed in the medical ward at the facility. He described her as demure and friendly and relieved to be through with the sentence. 'She has fulfilled her obligation. It's now completed,' Whitmore said."
Hilton will appear on Larry King Live Wednesday night. Barbara Walters had the opportunity to interview her, but turned it down.
Walters told US Weekly the interview was "beneath her": "Look, I've done prison interviews before, but people like the Menendez Brothers were really important news stories. This wasn't. And even though I'd already written my questions, when all that pay-for-play stuff happened, I suddenly felt this was not up to my standard. It...felt...sort of …tawdry. The whole thing somehow was beneath me. For [ABC] it was ratings. For me it was respect. I'm fortunately at a point in my life where I can choose what I want, and this was solely my decision. [ABC] respected my decision and walked away. Some agreed with my decision, some didn't. For me it was just a question of respect."

Barbara Walters, the "genius" behind "The View," used these words: standards and tawdry. That is very funny.

What a stupid 80-year-old.
If she's been jonesing so badly to talk about heterosexual private-bumping, who better to talk about it with than Paris "Push it to the" Hilt-on.

Is Paris like the tree falling in the woods? If everyone ignores her, maybe she won't exist.

Tress are beautiful and useful in infinite ways.
Paris Hilton is ugly and useless.

I agree with Steven. Let's just stop talking about her.

What should Paris do now that she's out of jail? I posted one thought on my blog, The Candy Pitch (www.thecandypitch.com).

Every article I've read about Paris this morning starts by describing what she was wearing!! I've been laughing all morning! This is news??!! Makes me think of Goldie Hawn's movie, Protocol, where the small town news anchors are hosting the parade and describe their wardrobes as "she's wearing a blouse and he's wearing a suit"...LOVE IT!! Sponsored by Scmitters Hardware, corner of 5th and Main! LOL!

I am so glad that *someone* in the media turned down a Paris Hilton interview. Maybe the days of this whore dominating the headlines are numbered.
Call it schadenfraude, but I much prefer the crying Paris to the smiling Paris.

A couple points I'll make about this issue:
1. She's a very pretty girl so stop calling her ugly. She's simply NOT ugly.
2. If this is the first time you've encountered a pretty, rich girl who does nothing but party, it's time to move you and your righteous indignation out of the suburbs. Who CARES if she does nothing?
3. Her nothingness is NOT news and shame on the MSM for covering it as if it was.
4. Shame on anyone who buys People, US, Star, Hello!, et al, only to turn around and bemoan celebrity culture. Remember, every issue sold is a yes vote.
5. Shame on anyone who clicks Paris Hilton stories on every blog in the universe, only to turn around and bemoan celebrity culture. Remember, every click is a yes vote.
6. Her jail term was NOT news to begin with, but after the Baca chaos it actually raises a very interesting issue of favorable treatment for celebrities when most data show that people with Hilton's offense DON'T spend as much time in jail as she had to. The afterstory will be interesting here...maybe Jeffrey Toobin in the New Yorker? (wink, wink)
7. Leave the girl alone if she wants to withdraw from attention (yet to be determined LOL). I love the poll that said 70% of people "just want her to disappear" but who will gladly buy the magazines, visit the blogs, etc., that finance the photogs who will shoot pics of her taking out trash, hanging in a store, lounging by a pool, etc. Hypocracy of the highest order.
Glad you are out, Paris. Now girl...get your shit together!

Let's see. Let me check my opinion on this.
Nope, still don't care.

She and mommy are media whores. I'm sure Paris will announce something - short of curing cancer - on Larry King (he certainly has no standards). The sadness is that the press 24/7 feeding frenzy does appeal to the masses...these are the same people who (57%)can't name the current Vice President.

Barbara thinks interviewing Paris is beneath her but getting Rosie to sit on The View to boost the show's ratings, is not?
Barbara honey, you're hairdresser is clearly using too much spray net on your hair.

I saw Barbara Walters on the street once. A strong breeze came by, and I looked over in horror thinking she was going to crumble. Who will put Barbara together again I wondered? Then I just got confused, starting reciting "Humpty Dumpty", and made myself happy.
Moral of the story: I tried to care about Paris Hilton. But I don't. I tried to care about Barbara Walters. But I don't. Nursery rhymes are much more interesting than both.

While being interviewed for his new movie, Robin Williams did a wonderful riff, ala WWII, on the liberation of Paris.

Meanwhile some bad things are happening to some people over in some country called Iraq. I think we're involved somehow.
Never mind.

She hasn't changed. Did you SEE her walk out of the jail?!? It was like a freaking runway event for her. It wont be long before she's back to her old ways.

Who is this freak of nature that just got out of jail?
And why should we care?

Hey BECKS07 I know this is a gay site but still...beauty is truly more than skin deep. And Paris is UGLY!
