Have a Peaceful and Relaxing Labor Day

Laborday

The late days of summer are upon us.

College-age men getting married in Iowa, and a conservative Senator shamed by furtive sexual allegations in a men's public restroom preparing to possibly resign. As we head into Labor Day the stark contrast of these two major stories couldn't be more glaring. On one hand, hope and openness. On the other, shame and the closet.

The former is the future, and I'm looking forward to it. Everyone have a safe and relaxing holiday weekend.

  4. I agree that the couple in Iowa are the future.

    Hope and openness will win the day.

    Unfortunately, nothing scares the hell out of a conservative fundamentalist like hope and openness, especially when it's gay hope and openness.

  5. And...to make it an even better weekend, Zeke, Mike Nifong was just sentenced to a day in jail. That might seem rather slight for someone trying to frame three innocent students, but....as symbolism it's not bad. Too bad his homophobic Durham cronies can't join him, but luckily they'll get it when Durham gets its pants sued off next month.
