Chris Crocker on Maury Povich

Is he real? Chris Crocker escaped from in front of his video camera to set things straight on the Maury Povich show.

Crocker: "You think it's acting? I did internet acting for a year. I'm signed to a production company. However, the one video I'm not acting in - honest to God - the one video that is a blog straight from the heart is this video that's getting publicized...Everyone that knows me knows I love Britney. And you know, everyone that thinks this is fake, do your research. Look at my other videos where I have thousands of dollars worth of memorabilia, you know. I have a Britney pool. That's what I call it, my Britney pool...We're both beautiful women that (bleep) wants to be, so we're underdogs. America, I want you to know that before I'm an American, I'm a Britney fan!"

And he still has a show on? Wha'?

  6. There are good queens(Quentin Crisp, and there are bad queens (J.Edgar Hoover), and then there are young queens deciding which way to go. Give Chris time...give "her" time. As of now, I like the young bitch.

  9. it's a shame being a living stereotype on Maury is more valuable than being an outspoken underground favorite on You Tube, but that's Chris' choice to make I guess. just remember Chris from now on, you get edited.

i don't know which is more toxic.

  14. "America will never ever forget you..." wow that's some strong hyperbole there Maury. You don't think in 3 months everyone's going to have forgotten this?

  15. I'd rather read about Ms. Crocker than the Beckhams.

  16. Did Maury ask him about the video where he talks about sex with his half brother and then makes out with him? That would be perfect for the show!

    Posted by: Mike | Sep 21, 2007 10:46:36 AM

  17. What an entrance this Chris Crocker has!
I like him...I wish he keeps showing up on every talkshow there is...We need more colorful poeple like him on our screens ...you go Chris!!

  18. He doesn't have a brother. It was his ex.
Like all the rest of us, he'll grow, he'll change and mature.
But for now, he's okay. I like him a lot, too.
I wish I had more of his guts when I was his age.
When I was 19, I was too busy watching myself
and making sure nobody thought I was gay.

  19. What was with that Victoria Beckham hairstyle though? And she had that same sad expression so often seen in Anna Nicole Smith.

I see tragedy ahead - or a very brief 15 minutes. But I wish him/her well.

  20. so far, so good.

  21. Even though I find him annoying as hell, I like this kid's chutzpah. But I do wish he woud just go through with the gender reassignment surgery already.

  22. William Sledd does a very good impression of Ms. Crocker. Sledd's the better actor.

    Posted by: anon (gmail.com) | Sep 21, 2007 12:45:25 PM

  23. Peter:

Chris may still enjoy using "her" peter--many drag queens do, so "she" may not want sex reassignment. Y'all "mainstream" gay guys will never understand transgendered people. But that's ok, 'CAUSE WE'RE ALL GAY TOGETHER, aint we?

Oh, united we stand, divided we fall
And if our backs should ever be against the wall....

  24. Anyone ballsy enough to pull the crap that Crocker has pulled earns respect from me. He may annoy you, but he's pushing boundaries, and that can only be a good thing!

  25. This cheezy little scum was amuzing for about 5 minutes. Now the time is up. Go away, little boy/girl.

  26. Shouldn't Posh be rehearsing for the reunion tour instead of hitting the talk show circuit?

    Posted by: kenneth | Sep 21, 2007 1:54:31 PM

  27. Uh...did HE say "We're both beautiful women..." So he's a tranny??? I didnt know they made 'em that young...???

Posted by: Oh no | Sep 21, 2007 2:38:57 PM

  28. I think it is extremely positive thing to deconstruct gender roles and to be an out and proud effeminate man. But it's another to embrace the most vapid popular culture, internalize society's caricatures of gay men and reproduce them, be an egomaniacal drama queen, and a lost immature kid. Chris Crocker bothers me because I see him as acting out all of these negative things when he could easily be acting the positive ones if he just took the time to grow up outside of the public eye for a bit. I’m sure he could, or maybe still will, grow up to be a really smart and sassy guy. But as of now, I don't see anything positive in his behavior for him, the gay community, or Britney Spears.

  29. i'm confused. what's with the random bleeps? no one was talking when he walked out, and they had the bleeps.

then they bleep the word "everyone?"

    huh?

    or did i miss something?

  30. DERRICK FROM PHILLY...having had several friends in my life who happened to be transgender, I assure you I understand transgender people as well as I understand the next person...and yes, I was already aware that not every transgender person wants to have gender reassignment surgery (but thanks for the edu-ma-cation, um-kay?)...my comment about my wish that Chris Crocker would go ahead and have gender reassignment surgery was not meant to be taken so literally...it was more a lament that he hasn't *really* come out as transgender yet, even though I strongly suspect that Chris identifies more as a female and less as a gay man.

  31. Wow... povich has become a serious media whore to have this idiot on his show.

  32. If it doesn't go away soon, I'm going to stop coming to this site. Enough already.

  33. Oh thank you, Adam. Thank you for intelligently explaining why I feel the way I do about about this fool. There is nothing original about that hot mess! He is nothing but a smug, superficial concoction. Yeah, that video was funny at first, but it's no reason to celebrate anything this dork has to offer. Why are we rewarding such dumb behavior all the time? Yeah, stupidity is going to be out there, but we do not have to support it - never mind celebrate it. I'm so over this crap. Go away Chris Crocker!

  34. He looks like Posh Spice, finally all grown up.

  35. very well put, ADAM.

i, too, am of two minds about this new "phenom". it's kind of a love-hate thing. more hate than love, though.

    Posted by: nic | Sep 22, 2007 9:22:59 AM

  36. love hate is right, but whatever, let's just ride the ride and see what happens.

    Posted by: brad | Sep 22, 2007 3:39:42 PM

  37. I'll repeat here what I sarcastically told my straight friends, "I'm calling headquarters and asking them to take away his gay license."

But in all seriousness, many may say that he's "pushing boundaries" but I think he's doing quite the opposite. He is only alienating the people on the border into thinking negatively about gays. We strive so hard to overcome every stereotype that he embodies.

I'm not going to argue that he should stop, though, as long as he is being who he wants to be and isn't just putting on a show. Everyone should have the right to be whomever they want to be.
