  1. For all the money the DCCC has, that ad is pretty poorly executed.

C'mon, "Bad Boys"? Can you be more juvenile?

  2. Hillary commercial blah blah blah

and Edwards just recieved his 4th union endorsment today from one based out of NY, hillary's back yard while she has only garnered 1 union endorsment.

Union endorsments= money, actual registered voters , and campaign volunteres donated from the union.

    Edwards has been endorsed by

NY based Transportation workers of America

    Steel workers of America

    Mine workers of America

    Carpenters and Joiners of America

totaling 2,000,000 million people as members of those unions

  3. Anti-Hillary.....I can understand your not wanting Hillary.....but to want the most self-centered, self-serving little weasel in the campiegn, Edwards, well, that I can't understand. Christ man, some of the Republicans have better gay rights stances than this two faced guy. He says he's not there yet on Gay marriage, then sends his wife out to wink and nod about how she knows he will do good by us.....uh huh....like he does good using his son's death for votes, or her cancer for sympathy votes and raising cash. The man was in the Senate for 1 term, and did absoulty NOTHING of any note, where was all his concern for gays and ordinary folks when he actually had the power to do something?
He likes to talk about his **daddy** being a mill worker, well he was, a BOSS, not a lowly worker. He talks of 2 Americas, guess which one he lives in? He and his wife built a Taj Mahal in a rural area and since then has waged war on the locals with complaints and trying to get ordinences changed for their benifit....screwing over the regualr folks while doing it......he's nothing more than an elitest, shyster ambulance chaser who happens to be cuter than most of the other candidates.
At least if you supported Obama, I could support that(but not him...lol).

  4. I think America needs a serious b!tch to get things done. Not a "change agent". Not a good speaker. A not-nice bulldog that will rip Repubs a fresh one and sever from Bush's wrongs. As much as I think Edwards is a good candidate, I am begining to think Hillary should be the one.

Then again, perhaps Repub should win this one so that they can continue to screw the country and encourage Repub's demise.

  7. Union endorsements are more about the people on the executive committee than they are about the members. 200,000 member union does not mean 200,000 members support the endorsed. Get a grip.

  8. Actualy poodle just the opposite

As evidenced by the news if you read newspapers and such.

The AFL-CIO board wants to endorse Clinton due to connections and friendships to Bill in the past but the general membership said HELL NO and they want Edwards and have forced the union into the position of most likely not endorsing anyone till after the primaries.

Read a newspaper before you try to school me.

  9. PS Its a Huge fight within the AFL-CIO union but only people who actualy read newspapers and such would know.

sheesh kid, please do not vote. An uneducated voter is the worse kind.

  10. Poodle, you are right, of course. Otherwise, Gephardt would have won the nomination over Kerry in a cake walk last presidential election cycle.

In the 2004 primaries, Gephardt received endorsements from:
-International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers; endorsed in July 2003.
    -Teamsters; endorsed in August 2003.
-United Steelworkers of America; endorsed in August 2003.
-Laborers International Union of North America; endorsed in September 2003.
-Iron Workers Union; endorsed in April 2003.
-United Food and Commercial Workers; endorsed in Oct. 2003.

    Kerry received endorsements only from:
-International Association of Fire Fighters; endorsed in September 2003.
-Utility Workers Union of America; endorsed in October 2003. (Source: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070901/ap_on_go_pr_wh/union_endorsements_glance
And we know the outcome of that.

Do not be misled by spurious comments such as: "The AFL-CIO board wants to endorse Clinton due to connections and friendships to Bill in the past but the general membership said HELL NO and they want Edwards and have forced the union into the position of most likely not endorsing anyone till after the primaries." Not only is the sentence construction sub-literate, but the statement itself is facile, lazy and absurd.

First, the AFL-CIO is not a union. It is a federation of unions: Hence, American FEDERATION of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations. It encompasses 54 affiliated unions, including all the ones mentioned on this thread. Among them is the CWA, the union I belonged to for many years.

Second, in order for the AFL-CIO to endorse one candidate out of 7 or 8 or 9 or 20, two-thirds of the member unions would have to agree on one candidate -- an impossibility in a crowded race where any one of the candidates is seen as acceptably pro-labor.

It is not at all unusual for the AFL-CIO to postpone endorsing a candidate til after the primaries. The last two times when they did make primary endorsements were Gore in 2000 and Mondale in 1984.
