Britney Spears Committed for Psychiatric Treatment

If you're just waking, the circus was back in town last night in Los Angeles, as Britney Spears was committed to the hospital for psychiatric treatment.

"Before the cops arrived, the shrink told her she was going back to the hospital and she offered no resistance. She said, "Is something wrong?" She made hot chocolate and waited. Her mom, Lynne, got extremely agitated, accusing Sam of engineering the impending commitment. We're told Brit told her to "shut the hell up." She demanded silence, sat on the floor and wrote notes to people who were there as they waited. When emergency personnel arrived, Brit went on the gurney without resistance..."

Hopefully Spears will soon get the help she so desperately needs.

  4. That poor thing. Nothing is wrong with her, she is an artist. She has gone through a divorce, her career is not what it once was, she has been called, trash, fat, no talent for the past 3 years. She and her mother are on bad terms, she has lost her kids to some moron. She needs a vacation out of the country, some serious private time but certainly not Psychiatric care.

  5. Just like Princess Diana before her, Miss Spears is a "hunted" woman by a pack of wolves who only want the "money shot." This international pack who are stalking her in L.A., want what they couldn't get from the French authorities re: Princess Diana. That is: A multi-million dollar photo of the dead body of Miss Spears for world-wide release. Miss Spears does not have the where-with-all do know that she is being played. Now she finds herself in a whirpool of confused fact & fantasy that she must sort out. I hope that the people who truly love this woman help her with that chore. It took some time to get to this state; it's going to take just a much time for Miss Spears to heal.

  7. @ Davey & Mark,

    From your posts to God's.....Media

I pray for the poor thing. Never did care for her much, but this has got to stop. These vultures don't seem happy until someone is dead.

  8. considering she was never more than a mouseketeer gone wrong, a saccharin insipid pop fabrication... instead of embracing concern for the idol adrift, and instead of gorging on the thrill of the ambulance chase... it's difficult to feel more than just a throw-away "good riddance" to such cultural trash.

  9. Ooooh, I love when the fanboys and fangirls discover the comments section of Towleroad. The Britney apologists are getting as bad as Claymates.

  11. Disgusting. Brittany, I mean. What a waste of humanity. It's revolting how many people respect and idolize her and other similarly insane (how often does hyperbole turn prophetic?) celebrities (see: Scientologist celebs).

  12. It disgusts me that we even freaking CARE about B.S. Every time I think our society can't possibly get any more shallow, I'm proven wrong.

  13. Since she has invaded the serious news page, I've been forced to see her antics. But from what I see, she seriously does neef professional help. She's screaming for someone to take control for her, but hasn't the internal fortitude to off herelf or she would have been dead months ago. All of the antics with her driving is a suicide by accident waiting to happen. Unlike others in her frame of mind she just can't put the gun in her own mouth.

Davy.....the woman was calling the papparazzi and telling them where she was going, then her new papparazzi b/y did it for her. She was activily seeking the publicity. Let's face many hordes of Papparazzi have you seen hanging out waiting for stars to show up at Target, or Savon Drugs????

Does anyone have a clue how seriously f*cked up a woman has to be to lose custody of her small children, when she's worth 200 million dollars??? Especially in California!!

  14. I forgot to finish my questio on meant to add, not only did she lose custody, but she lost custody to the Father, who is just 1 gene shy of being an idiot. That takes a screwed up woman to accomplish that.

  15. Sorry Davy....I meant Mark.

  16. I agree with Joshua's opinion re: Spears' own death wish. She is playing the papparazzi as much as they play her. The need to be paid attention to, at any cost, is a crazy addiction. She is a big bag of contradictions & willing to do anything to be a the limelight; even create an accident that results in tragedy. It's this confused rationale that fuels the whirpool of fact & fantasy in this woman's mind.
Miss Spears was a "rock star" way before she was an adult, and she has made it obvious that she can't handle any real adult resposibilities. Let's hope that she can get serious consoling and end the madness.
So what's the moral to the story, Joshua? I don't know, but I believe everyone deserves a chance to redeem their soul (even a "trainwreck").

  17. Is Britney the new Francis Farmer?

Jessica Lange played her in her Oscar nominated performance in "Frances".

Nah, Britney is not as smart as Francis was.
