Bush Interrupts Barney Frank Phone Call with Boyfriend

On his way into the House chamber for the State of the Union, Bush reportedly bumped into Barney Frank who was on the phone with his boyfriend. Bush didn't know who it was, but told Frank to tell them 'hello'.

Sotu3_2After the speech, the Boston Globe reports, Frank sought out the President and told him, "Mr. President, by the way, the person I was talking to when you said to say hello was my boyfriend."

Bush's reply?

"Well. I hope you said how open-minded I am."

Said Frank: "I considered telling [the president] I wouldn't marry him, but then I thought, 'Nah.'"

  1. I'm sure Barney's bf already knows EXACTLY how open-minded the president is.

  2. My first thought: How tacky of Rep. Frank was it to be on the phone at that point?

  3. I tuned in to the last 3 minutes of his speech (don't ask me why) using the live feed on CNN dot com. Their camera followed him all the way out of the house - very much raw, non-commentary footage - and showed the boy kiss moments up close and Frank saying something to Bush about his boyfriend. It was all very, very odd.

  4. While I fully-support that it's a personal choice, why hasn't Sen. Frank married his boyfriend? ...It's legal in Massechusetts.

Even Uncle Sully was made an "honest man" last year....

  6. Not quite controversial enough to rate, unfortunately. But as always, it gives us all the opportunity to pile on...Bush is a moron.

  7. George Bush, the "open-minded" president whose administration filed a Supreme Court brief in favor of the continuation of Texas' sodomy laws.

George Bush, the "open-minded" president who vetoed funding for implementing DC's domestic partnership law.

George Bush, the "open-minded" president who threatened to veto ENDA and the Matthew Shepard Act.

George Bush, the "open-minded" president who supports DADT and the FMA.

George Bush, the "open-minded" president who answered a question about homosexuality with "I believe we're all sinners." Such grace and acceptance there.

To even make such a self-congratulatory Christy statement after all the misdeeds shows just how much of a megalomaniac he is.
