Flashback: '98 Provincetown Inferno

Ten years ago last weekend, one of the largest fires ever on Cape Cod might have destroyed the town of Provincetown, Massachusetts had the wind not been calm, and the volunteer fire department quick to action. A remembrance, and a slide show.

  1. 10 years later and the town is still corrupt.

Then alleged insurance fraud and arson --- how do you think we have the fab Paramount Club now and that nifty new mall next door.

Now alleged homophobia within the police department and an uninvestigated gay bashing on the beach across from Spiritus.

In between --- rampant meth used that all but destroyed the local year long gay community and a meth related murder (remember the poor man chopped up and tossed in a closet?).

    The town never changes.
