Neil Patrick Harris Says Britney Spears Not Necessary for Success

Though he praised her professionalism and How I Met Your Mother saw its best ratings ever as a result of her appearance, Neil Patrick Harris warns that "stunt" guest stars like Britney Spears may cause the quality of the show to suffer.
Said Harris: "I'm in the minority that our show does not need stunt casting in order to succeed. I worry that if they start `Will and Grace'-ing us too much, that the show will suffer. And we're all really proud of the content of the show. I mean, viewership is not our game. It's the network and the studio's game, you know. It's the promotion department's game. We wish we weren't opposite an awkward reality dancing competition. But we have no say about that. I just am a real fan of our content. I think we have a great show going, and I hope it's not screwed up by the desire for 700,000 more viewers."

She sucked on the show anyway.

Finally, the truth emerges. Casting Spears was an affront to all female actors. This was nothing more than the producers exploiting a mentally-incompetent, child-abusing non talent for personal gain. Everyone involved with the decision should be ashamed.

he sounds like a jealous queeny bitch...how typical...

Sean, she is not a child abuser. People throw that word around and dont understand the severity of the definition.
Spears did an ok job for the acting training she has received. no nick child can act well lol.
The show knew it would boost ratings, but this also gave a positive thing for britney to look forward to. Thats why her father decided to go forward.
The same reason she was on will and grace.
Neil is upset because his CBS shite show isnt giving him the fame he wants. and being gay aint either. Doogie is in a Doozie cause hes got no attention

Jocelyn, I don't know where to begin with the inaccuracies in your post. Britney is INDEED a child abuser. She drove with her son on her lap and put soft drinks in baby bottles for the kids, among many other widely reported errors in judgment.
Ryan Gosling, perhaps America's finest actor under 30, came out of the Mickey Mouse club, which I think is what you were trying to reference.
NPH has garnered a great deal of fame via his sitcom. He received his first Emmy nomination last year, for Pete's sake.

Oh please, Jocelyn. They did just as much acting as they did singing and dancing on MMC. Yet it seems every other person that has come out of that show is way more talented than she is.
Keri Russell, Ryan Gosling, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Christina Aguilera--all a million times more talented than that psycho, unfit, attention-seeking excuse for a mother. If you look at Justin & Christina's stints on SNL, you'll see they're much better at comedy than she is. And she was the first one to do a movie!

Putting a soft drink in a baby bottle is child abuse? Placing a baby on your lap is child abuse? Um, no. Errors in judgment are not child abuse.

(Placing a baby on your lap is child abuse?)
While driving a car? I do believe that's illegal in this state. . California state law requires children to ride in a federally approved baby car seat or child booster seat until they are at least 6 years old or weigh at least 60 pounds. We're talking about a child, not a bag of McDonalds french fries.
And if I might offer some free advice:
First rule of courtroom etiquette, Britney. Don't act like a crazy person in front of the judge. Not even a legion of high-priced lawyers can save you from yourself. I know you're not exactly Emily Post. But even for someone as clueless and self-absorbed as yourself, it takes a lot of hutzpah to show up to court visibly intoxicated (while demanding that your parental rights be reinstated).
You're losing a custody battle to Kevin Federline...Kevin Federline...of all people...
Take it as a sign that you need an attitude adjustment.

Geez, Doogie -- pissy much?
I'm not a fan of Britney, but calling Dancing with the Stars an "awkard dance show" shows just a touch of bitterness. I prefer watching someone trying to do something different outside of their experience and exceling at it than a mere sitcom.
