Hot Mystery Surfer Saves Man from Drowning, Vanishes

Brooklyn resident Brian Jordan wants to find the Mer-man who saved him from drowning last Saturday:
"All Brian Jordan knows about his savior is that he's a surfer with a sea-themed tattoo on his right arm and a courageous heart. Jordan's clean-cut guardian angel was captured in a snapshot taken by a passerby after he pulled Jordan to shore last weekend, but no one has been able to identify him. Like a modern-day superhero, the rescuer vanished before anyone could get his name. 'The last [thing] I remember of the guy was in the water. He was pulling me out. I couldn't move anymore,' said Jordan, 37."
Hell yeah, I'd be looking too. Was he wearing a glass flipper?

Maybe it was Aquaman!

"glass flipper"...pwaaaaaaaaah!
If this DOES turn out to be a viral stunt, it's going to be one of the best ever. Either way, perhaps they guy is just shy, or running from the law (oops!), or was skipping work and now he's busted and gonna lose his job for being AWOL. LMAO.
Sweet story in any case.

ooops. "the guy", not "they".
Don't worry, Ofray will find Aquaman. She's got peeps and I'm sure they can get Asha's number and then she can hitch a ride to Atlantis (with video!) to find out why he's so shy and shit.

The poor guy is lying on the ground after just almost drowning and some passerby stops by to take a picture? Tacky.

Actually, it was the guy who helped the hero get Jordan to shore who took the photo. Hey, I think Jordon is thrilled that someone took the photo. He seems rather crushing on his hero. I actually hope the guy's identity is never revealed. A true hero needs no "celebrity". It's a better story that way. He did what any decent person would have done, no?

What's with that 1986 haircut?
Posted by: Tyler | May 23, 2008 10:55:46 AM
Curious... they drowning guy is soaking wet, the hero looks bone dry. Even his hair looks stylin'.

What, he couldn't take pics of him doing mouth to mouth?
Posted by: secretagentman | May 23, 2008 11:42:01 AM
Patrick, I'm sure Jordan IS thrilled to have a picture of his mystery man, especially since he saved his life, then vanished. But I wonder if that was the photographers intent when he took the picture. Sorry, I just think it's a little bizarre to take a mans picture while he's lying on the ground after almost drowning. Just me.

Was there any mouth to mouth involved? No? Okay...

JJ....as a photographer myself, I am not sure if I would take photos in this kind of a situation or not. There would be so many variables that would determine it. If I thought it would help the "victim" in some way, be it for a lawsuit, medical reasons, etc, I may take pictures. I wouldn't take the pictures just so I had pictures of someone's personal tragic situation. A photographer specializing in photojournalism may take photos in such a situation. If the guy taking the pictures here just wanted to snap some photos, I do find that rather weird, but I don't know what his motives were and can't really judge him for it as long as he was in a public place. The fact that he must have contacted Jordan and showed/gave him the photos shows that he thought the guy may want them, which turned out to be true.
I think we all personally determine if this is creepy or not based upon how we would react knowing that someone had photographed us in such a situation. Some people wouldn't care, and some would be quite bothered by it. Being that Jordan is a photographer himself, and that he was ok after the incident, he was probably ok with these photos.

Umm, what was the drowning guy doing in the water fully clothed? This story does seem a little, umm, fishy.

This is so gay.

CRISPY, there's actually already a Splash 2 :D.
I love the spin you guys gave this article. "Hot mystery surfer", "glass flipper" :D.

Patrick, I hear what your saying. I guess I'm one of those people who wouldn't want to be photographed in that situation. But Hey, at least lying down, I wouldn't have to suck in my gut. ;)

Sounds like the basis for a very romantic movie.

Wow, it is just like Darryl Hannah and Tom Hanks in Splash. Though, as someone said above, the hot surfer's hair looks quite dry...
